  1. It was a long read, but that dive story was crazy.
  2. What was that one program....Space 1999. If things had worked out better I could be on the moon right now traveling off to all sorts of crazy places.
  3. I think if you're going to pull bolts you should also have the guts to stand up and say, "I did it and this is why." I'm not saying you have to post your actions here, but you should be willing to make it public knoledge. At Castle Rock a few guys pulled the bolts on the route inbetween Angel and Damnation. They had the balls to stand up and tell everybody what they did and why. The way things worked out nobody tried to replace the bolts, so in retrospect things worked out just fine. The same should be true at Index. If you want to rip out some bolts then go ahead, but have the balls to stand up for yourself. If you've done something that most people agree with then your actions will stick. If people don't like what you did then be prepared to revisit the site year round or just walk away and cry in your beer.
  4. Hmmm. This is something I should have started long before any talk of a contest, but I guess I should have held on to my weight and spent my time eating ice cream.
  5. AlpineK

but I play one on TV.
  6. Battlestar Galactica.
  7. I've dropped 3 1/2 lbs so far. I think 180 would be about right, but I'll have to do better than 15 lbs drop to get there.
  8. That's you isn't it fatty.
  9. Did you take the photo? Hmmm Do you have any evidence that isn't a dude?
  10. Hmmm. It would be nice to drop 15. I'm not sure I'm up to a competition though. I'm not too good on stratigy either.
  11. As an arborist I'm sorry to say but you're wrong. A girth hitch can also damage trees. Since you are passing a bight around the tree and then pulling it tight to set up your rap anchor you are also putting a constriction around the tree. Anything that draws tight around the main stem of a tree can damage it. For the least damage running a loop over a larger branch and around the stem will cause the least damage to the tree, but even that isn't perfect. I hate to say it but bolts in rock cause the least damage to trees.
  12. Cool. I've skied on Vancouver Island but never climbed there.
  13. I understand what Pope is trying to say, but on the other hand I've climbed JG to those bolts many times. I don't know all the history of that route, but from what I saw they didn't take away from anybody who wanted to do the full route. It's nice to here there are bolts there again.
  14. Well if we're going way beyond crag climbing then Castle Mountain has some cool climbing on it and a nice hut too. We did a long 5.9 buttress divided into 2 sections, Brewer Buttress I believe.
  15. I just had dinner. yum As for Chuck he's been around Kev. You just need to think outside the box.
  16. Think hard Kev.
  17. It would suck to run into this guy on Hood.
  18. My first time climbing outside in ages was at E38, but while there I was following 9s and 10s while I didn't seem to get much above 8s while climbing inside. I am recovering from an injury, but I still don't know what to make of that.
  19. I'm afraid I don't have a crag, so there will be none of that while drinking absinthe
  20. I've got a fresh bottle of it awaiting my return to drinking.
  21. I haven't checked out the count for a long time. I'm gaining on Dr. Flash. baa
  22. S....F....U...T. ouy rea a tardaer. Fixed I Tereh it you rof.
  23. That chart is kind of interesting. I remember when I was living in North Idaho south of the area with a noted rize in tick activity. I remember there being tons of ticks there; definitely way more than I've ever seen around here.
  24. I'd like to find a way to improve my diet since judging by my scale weight I could stand to drop some weight. I don't know anything other than I've heard the name, "Zone," before. One the other hand I kind of question this whole diet thing. One of my climbing partners is not fat at all, and he looks to be in good shape. At the same time he can eat huge meals that I can't even keep up with yet I'm the one who could stand to drop some weight. I have a hard time thinking I need to eat meat for breakfast. I try and stick to cerial in the morning.
  25. How many Swiss did you have to fight to steal their chard.
