Mt. Fund Aids All-Star Pakistani Women's Climb
AlpineK replied to Dechristo's topic in Climber's Board
I think any activity that helps people get out and make money is a good thing. Climbing in that area is popular. If men and women can make money guiding richer people from abroad those people will bring the money back and use it in the community to buy stuff they need which will create more employment in the area. I should add that health care is very important (I know that from recent personal experience), but it isn't the only important part of life; you also have to be able to make a living (once again this is an issue I'm working my way through) -
I fixed it by restarting my computer, so I did see the video. It was pretty nasty. Normally I have a bad attitude about cops, but in this case I feel sorry for the poor guy.

I can't figure out why that utube video doesn't want to play for me.

The most recent theory I heard was if you want to be a great climber you either need to be a shorty or really tall. The worst thing you can be is average height. I'm about average height.

From the movie What About Bob...."Baby steps on the bus...."

I wasn't really counting Mt Louis as a crag area, but yes there is some good climbing there.

I didn't click on all the links, but I don't think its pron.

I don't work in this forum....look at the bottom of the page

Exactly; I don't know where JayB or Offwhite are...not here.

So what you are saying is we should tear this one down and have a brand new fight instead of adding on eventually to what they are building

I was going to bring that up Tvash. Just because you hop on light rail doesn't mean you are forced to only go to the airport. You can get off whenever you want. Obviously they would need to add on quite a bit to make the system more usefull to a wide variety of people. In the past I have taken a metro bus to the airport and back after my trip. One link via light rail to the airport is an improvement over the bus but not the end of the overall situation.

(I wish)

I think it may be awhile before they release the name as the climbers spouse is overseas and a long way from contact. It is a really sad event.

I don't know if we have to take this from a well known Dick Head.

There are plenty of people who have jobs that require them to schlep all kinds of stuff to the spot where they are working that day. Myself and lots of people I know couldn't do there job via bus. Due to my injury I take the bus quite often, and it is a good means of transport, but it also means that I can't work right now.

On a somewhat related subject I was listening to an interview with Lee Iacocca this morning HERE He says that plug in hybrids are the best thing that will gain the most buyers in the near term. Hydrogen is a great idea for a vehicle, but it's about 25 years out right now. I think the price of fuel not the desire to be eco will get people to buy these. I'm eventually going to have to do something about my chevy pickup.

Tri Cams rule. They are a really good thing to have doing alpine routes since they don't weigh you down like the same set of cams.

Good point but don't be dissin Yak

The Seattle Metro area takes cake over Yakima in population by a large number therefore Yakima is the winner for auto theft....a small powerhouse. Seattle auto thieves just aren't putting out like they do in Yakima

I don't think Kev is going to get the point of this photo. -
Minx has a lot more records than I do. All I can say is Arch has been posting a hell of a lot longer than you Kev. When it comes to posting there's a wide variety of things that go on. Some parts of spray are serious, some are just bs. Kev you spend a little too much time obsessed with Arch. Just look at your quoted location, "In Archenemys mind." First off you aint in her mind, secondly your obsession with Arch is disturbing to a lot of people. You need to spend some more time doing stuff like your posts on music videos. Some of them were pretty good. I'm not into all the music you like, but those were much better than your sick obsession with Arch.

I'd like to go, but I'm banned from driving right now.

About an hour NE of Moscow is this place called Freezout Ridge. I used to do a bunch of AT skiing there. It's near a town called Clarkia. Here's a summertime link Driving past Clarkia could be tough in the winter. They were logging near there when I was in Moscow so you could drive a van there. Having a snowmobile would be a big plus. If you go there be sure to stop in the one bar in Clarkia. It's a dinky place full of drunk loggers. (at least as long as you aint chicken)

Could we build a rocket and send Kevbone to investigate?

There's good nightlife, but it's all in Moscow. There's one small crag nearby. Get a Mtnbike Moscow mountain has some good riding on it; there's even a small crag up there too.
