  1. Same here. I think I'd have to be talked into the idea of having kids by a younger woman. I don't have a set age for women...well over mid 20s and under mid 50s. That still leaves a lot of options.
  2. So back in the old days...I'm afraid to admit this, but I was in the mounties basic class at age 14 back in the 70s (no shit) Polypro underwear was a new thing and at one basic class and on a few field trips shorts over polypro was the recommended garb. It was lighter and cheaper than most availiable outdoor wear and everybody was doing it. At some point folks clued in on the fact that you could get good pants that would hold up to outdoor conditions while not making you look like a complete dork. I mean even today you can legally walk down the street in your underwear without the fear of being arrested but with the fear of being ridiculed by everybody that sees you. Shorts over polypro stuck around for a long time. I'm sorry to say that I have a picture of me on top of Slesse from the late 80s or early 90s after climbing the NE Buttress dressed in shorts over polypro. It's nice to have cloths that you can wear while climbing yet at the end of the trip still walk into a store without feeling ridiculous.
  3. Trip out with Old Greg
  4. From personal experience you can really mess yourself up after only falling 10' I hope the guy is ok.
  5. QUIT TALKING ABOUT BEER. Or other alcohol for that matter. I guess I'm luck that for me I can't drink beer not just because it's fattening but also since it really messes with antiseizure meds that I have to take till sometime in June. The talk of salad dressing is interesting. Just last night as I dumped on way too much I was thinking that I at least need to measure it out.
  6. This whole thread is a dog and pony show. I like looking at this thread since it gives me something to laugh about. Thanks for the entertainment. If you want to take it to the next level both sides should send a crew out to carry on this discussion with people actually climbing at Index. You could watch a group climbing then one side could berate the climbers for being pussys and clipping unneeded bolts while the other side could keep chanting, "now that's a great bolt." Then both sides could get into a fight just like West Side Story.

    Now is....

I like baseball, but I'm going to Stone Gardens this afternoon and that's better in my book.

    Dinner

DUCKNUT that is not a good dinner what kind of example are you setting for the impressionable???? you could have at least gone to the park Damn, you were at the park! I thought you said to meet you behind the high school with a six pack. How about tomorrow night? I can't wait till I can get back to drinking. I'm looking forward to my first Sparks in ages. I was having a really hard time keeping up with all the quotes.

    Sarkozy

Hmmm I managed to remember enough francois to get by the last time I was over there, but I couldn't follow along with this video. All I know about the new French pres is he's suppose to be conservative, but conservative has a differnt meaning in politics there versus here.
  10. Well that might be ok.
  11. All I can say is no cruising downtown and bringing home crack whores....I don't care how sparkling their personalities are.
  12. Hmmm I always figured the corn tortillas were better for you than the standard flower ones, but that was just my guess. I may be totally wrong; I don't know.
  13. I'm not too bright, but how do you make a burrito without the tortilla? I've been making some tacos with corn tortillas; I figure that's better than the big fatty flower tortillas. Tonight I made spaghetti with sauce and a sausage then a salad. I do use a measuring thingy to keep me at 1 serving of pasta. I don't have exact numbers, but I believe I've been keeping my diet to around 1500 cal/day.
  14. It does look like a cool device. Like anything I'm sure there are drawbacks, but maybe they're worth it.
  15. As things stood I may have slowed them down by at most 5 min at the base of the route. Yeah they could have done an alternate start. As things worked out I was climbing faster by myself than they were as a team. If they would have caught up with me I totally would have let them pass.

    SUSHI

I love Sushi. I'll keep eating it, but it probably isn't the best thing for the environment.
  17. I need to make some money, but I don't have clue 1 what WYSIWYG means. Is it something kinky? 8D
  18. A long time ago I wasn't aiding, but I was rope soloing the Green Spur in Eldorado Canyon. I got up early to beat the crowd and got to the route first. I led the first pitch then rapped to clean it. At the base I ran into a couple who had just got there looking to do the same climb. The dude seemed grumpy and wanted to pass. I told him that if they caught up with me I had no problem with them passing. I then jugged the rope and started on the second pitch. I never saw the dude again till I was rapping to clean the last pitch. He gave me a dirty look, and I laughed and headed to the top. I never saw the couple again. The point is I have no problem with faster groups passing, but I don't automatically assume that somebody is going to be faster. In the case at Index if I was in a group of 5 on the first short bit of a pitch and a smaller group showed to do the complete route I might not instantly let them pass, but I would let them pass. In the case in Eldo the whole thing just makes me laugh.
  19. 10 min at one time or 10 min over the course of a day. I might be able to keep up with the second choice.
  20. I'm watching you too beotch.
  21. Shit I'd come up if I had my driving permission back. I haven't been to Canada since our trip to Icemaker. On second thought maybe I did go to Squish once later on
  22. I've been drinking a lot of tea and stevia. The stevia is like a sweetener but it has 0 cals and it's natural (as far as I know). It sure as hell isn't nutrasweet or whatever. I'd love a beer or any alcohol drink, but the doctors told me not to drink any until I'm done with antiseizure meds. It makes me but it does help with loosing weight. Right now I'm down 7 lbs from my start date or down 3.5 from the contest start. There are some burley city stairs behind my place to do laps on.
  23. I agree with that. If we wanted Index to be back to it's natural state we would be out putting soil, moss, ferns, and other small trees and plants back in the cracks. You'd have to leave Western Washington to do any climbing on rocks that hadn't been scrubbed. Basically every thing that climbers have done has drastically altered the natural state of things.

    Mind Fuck

Heat said: Since 06 eh. I think I've been a member since 00, but I'm not a long time member since there are folks who have been regular members for even longer. In my humble opinion it is possible that you are too much of a pussy to climb Liberty Ridge.
