  3. Snaffles raiding your garden to prophylactic wolf piss to malfunctioning gaydar all in one thread. Isn't this a sign of the apocalypse?
  4. That Bianchi is a STEAL at that price! I sold my 15 year old Bianchi recently to someone for $150 (after riding it almost daily for 10 years).
  5. Doesn't YOSAR charge for rescues if the parties needing rescued do not have adequate equipment? I seem to recall they are either charged money or for criminal wrecklessness.
  6. You've obviously never climbed at the Butte. Tweakers go their to boot up and party--any car that happens to be there is a target of opportunity. Its not like they go out of their way to ransack cars there.
  7. What's all this D and R crap? Oh, I, get it: D = Dick R = Richard Two sides of the same coin. They're all 8=D Amen

    But its a dry heat
  9. Its like Broughtons with shorter, single pitch stuff. I think there is more like 50 routes but they are south facing and even when its wet elsewhere quite a few of the routes remain dry.
  10. Do the east ridge of Ingalls then. Goat rocks?

  14. Ahhh yes, it was liberals who created the single largest bureaucracy in america: Homeland Security. It was liberals who challenged individual states rights. Agreed the liberal justices got it wrong and this decision is flat out wrong. To say that liberals are responsible for big government in modern america is laughable.

  16. I took a jaunt up to McNeil Point last weekend and while I was not able to see Leuthold, the Sandy Headwall appeared to be in good shape. However there were signs of recent sloughing so anyone heading up that way would be well-advised to hit it early.

Don't forget your bike(s), computer stuff, ski gear, etc.
  18. I've climbed on Benthos. Its pretty solid granite, albeit dirty from lack of activity. I'm not sure if we were on the House route or not but it was pretty easy down low. I think the last pitch had a hard section (.10?) but we bailed at this point because it was wet.
  19. Don't hate the playa
  20. I'm 5'11" and hobbled most of the next day. My GF was 5'6". She liked it. Next time take off the hipwaders

    Denali Attempt

It may keep it from ramming into you but wont do jack for lateral support whilst traversing a slope. A better way--if there are two of you--is to be roped up and have a prussik running from the back of the sled to the rope. If you practice good rope management, i.e. keeping it fairly taught between the two of you, gravities pull on the downward side will be minimized. There's no way of completely eliminating it but this was the best we could do. We tried the PVC pole attachment to the sled worked ok for keeping the sled fram knocking into you from behind but you still have to be careful that you dont get knocked off balance when the poles get slammed with all that weight. Sleds suck.
