The Jannu North face? + other himalayan big walls?
Tyson.g replied to Laughingman's topic in Climber's Board
I got mad skills.......just not the balls! -
Genius trailer you have put together Mr. Fairweather. My stoke to see the movie is now immense!

Welcome to town Dave. PM me and I will give you my contact info.

"It has been a LONG time since my mountaineers BCS but I seem to remember it has a good value for the money. I mean it is cheap and if you put work into it, you will get plenty out of it" Same as my experience and I agree. I would also add that Selkirik is spot on in his post.

I could not agree more sir!

Found it, complete with Arc/Divot/Icefall/Crampon/Whoeverthefuckthatassholewas Thanks Sobo! That was awesome! The things missed before I came aboard this sweet forum!
-
Awesome Pat! Although in your videos I really like the "Night Visit". You do seem way too nice however, as most of my buddies would have killed and ate that bastard right quick.

Problem solved. It appears there are no mice in my home network as it works without issue.

That 3rd photo is awesome!

Spotter - Thanks. Unfortunately I do not think you are getting it. It is not a problem finding the link, and once in a while I do spell correctly. It is when I click the link, like the one you so graciously provided, that I end up on the site with a header and footer but absolutely nothing for contact aside from ads. I have done google search for just summit post as a stand alone and followed every link in the hit list and got the same result. This has absolutely nothing to do with search functions.

I was looking for the story on there about "Dark Rythm" and its first ascent. I have in the past found some very useful info there and am kinda bummed it is not working here. I just had a buddy try from his computer here at work and he has had the same result. I guess I will try it at home.

Fantastic. Jon - Apologies. It has nothing to do with the maintenance, creation, layout or moderation of the site. It suffers the fate of many online forums that digress into a changing (somewhat) cast of characters that incessantly fling poo at one another and make what could be great not so much. Not to say there are not good points on here and this site has enabled me to get to know some cool people and read some great stuff. So to you Jon and co. I say thank you. I should note that my poor wording in the OP resulted in a misunderstanding of my intent and original question. I am not asking about quality or content or opinions of others on Summitpost. I am asking about a particular user interface experience. Now - does anyone else have a similar experience to me on Summitpost or am I even more retarded than initially suspected?
-
I agree. So does this site 90% of the time. I should have been more specific as to my issue - When I load Summitpost all I get is ads. As in no content, not menu, no ability to navigate further into the site and no access to beta. Is it just a matter of adbloc?
-
+1 on the photo thing.
-
Anyone else have issue with the Summit Post site being nothing but a full page of ads? As in NO information or ability to navigate further into the site? What the Heck!

Do not drop the soap when you're in the shower with a bear Thanks Num I needed a good laugh this morning!

I agree Darin with the nerve entrapment hypothesis. I was about to suggest it when I opened the thread and read your last comment in whole. I had a neck injury years ago that presented in a very similar way (numbness and tingling in the pinky). Best of luck Darin and heal quick!

Bear sausage is good........ Because it is mainly pork fat.

I was referring to Ivan. the problem with most philosophers is they're dead steve jobs was a man like anybody else, his death reaffirms that basic fact - he doesn't need to be hero-worshipped - he made more contributions to the modern world than most for certain, and his life will be remembered long after my own has gone, and i can be enlightened enough not to be jealous about that wonder how long the battery in his iTomb will last? Much longer if he puts it in airplane mode!
-
meh. sure, he'll be a thomas edison type figure for the future to revere, but i'm not certain that his contributions haven't had some drawbacks - the whole iLife, propped up by endless iGadgets, leads to a lotta self-obsessed motherfuckers i'll forgive him for the starry night ap on those goddamn phones though - that thing is fuckign cool! The mofo's were already self obsessed, now we just have facebook so we can be self obsessed voyeur's looking through the living room windows of other self obsessed mofo's, and do it without having to actually you know, deal with other people. Wasn't is Sartre who said the hell is other people anyway? Sartres' Quote literally translated from French is "Hell is others" not just other people all "others".

Geez, that is out of character for that guy to look like an over the top jack ass isn't it?

Not to mention one hell of a nice and patient guy. Just don't mention honey badgers.

I have a hard time believing any municipality would issue a building permit without plans stamped by a P.E./S.E. and building anything without a permit sets one up for huge liability not to mention if an inspector sees it they will likely make you dismantle the structure. (Inspectors can be a bit vindictive this way). As a third generation builder I've seen it happen. I recall one family who built a waterfront home on Bainbridge (or was it Vashon) Island on a steep slope. The homeowner built a concrete retaining wall without engineering or permits. An inspector 'red tagged' the home citing the retaining wall was improperly engineered and built. The homeowner went through political channels to reverse the inspector's decision and the red tag was removed. Next heavy rain event the retaining wall catastrophically failed and the hillside slumped, knocking the house off the foundation and into the water, burying it in the process. The entire family died. Wow! Holy Shit! I guess engineers do learn something in school after all.
