  1. Nice Curt! Looks like Andy's visit went swimmingly! Stories over beers this week? Tyson
  2. "I like the Scarpa Techno for multipitch trad as it is pretty good at edging, thin jamming, and smearing." I am with Rad on this one. A great shoe IMHO. Of course I just came into the 21st century from a pair of super stretched La Sportiva cliffs.
  3. Saw that flash twice two weeks ago from further up the valley. It was on the same trajectory both times, about an hour apart, and just dissapeared in a flash toward the NE. I thought for sure it was the drones! Yikes!
  4. Sorry to hear that Shapp. My sincere condolences.
  5. Gene has an eye for the details!
  6. Screw the SS hangers, this new idea of natural pro is going to be the rage!
  7. By permanent draws on the squirrels I can only imagine you mean that you force the squirrels to eat a shoelace with a block tied to one end and you use a biner on the end they shit out?
  8. Both lines thus far have gone trad with the exception of one bolt on an unprotectable slab section. Mainly focused on belay/rap stations at this point. I like the Fixe trad anchor configuration but holy crap $$$. I can and will set up my own version at a much lower cost. When you come put up the hard man routes you can put anything you like on them!
  9. Looking to get my hands on some SS hangers.
  10. Matt you are spot on. Buy the pass or don't and risk the ticket, but for Pete sake if your panties are that bunched up folks, then use you time to write someone who can actually do something rather than spend your time whining on here. Remember Johnny it is like the first grade around here, no one likes a whiner.!
  11. +1 for Marks comment! Cheap ass bastards sell ONE cam or don't re outfit with next years hot new designs.
  12. Nice. Great photos as usual!
  13. Ouch! Those blisters! Freaking OUCH! Nice job gents!
  14. True enough Rad. I personally choose not to camp anywhere permits are necessary. True I will miss out on some classic spots nut there are plenty of places I can practice my preferred non regulated style.
  15. So, I am wondering why, if an itinerary is left with a responsible party and said party is clearly instructed to NOT call in for help until a set time, would anyone do the volunteer registering? I personally leave my plans with my wife and my mom with clear instructions about when and if to call out for help. I do not register (even on hikes at the trailhead). I have been late and I have been very late, with no incident. My idea of climbing and adventure is one of self reliance and a trust that between you and your partner/s no matter what happens: accident, forced bivy etc. that it is your parties responsibility and only your parties responsibiliy to get in, out and or initiate a rescue if need be, not to burden others unnecessarily. I am sure one can make a case against this ideal on many points but it just seems like the volunteer register thing is an easy way to cause unnecessary expense and trouble for people, who should be ultimately responsible for themselves and not chaporoned by the park service or mountain rescue or whomever. I mean we are all adults aren't we, who are putting ourselves in these situations on our own volition? Burly work Mito! Intense!
  16. Awesome photos Tom! Geoff pic 7 of the sunset is really cool! Great TR guys!
  17. Tom your TR's are a blast to read and this one was no different. I can't wait to get on a computer where I can see the pics! I have always been fascinated by the Dakobed range and have spent much time daydreaming of going in there. Now you have inspired me to make it happen. Thanks!
  18. That specimen posted by the "dawg" could ruin my wilderness experience anytime! Meow er, uh I mean bahhhhh.
  19. I like the looks of Whitelaws "slabdaddy" topo. What are you using David?
  20. What do you use for developing TOPOS for rock climbs? Suggestions please!
  21. Are you kidding bstach? I make a lot less than that for doing a hell of a lot more work.
  22. That looks like some really fun stuff! Thanks for sharing!
