    Display Upgrades

Please bring back the blue. I really hate this new display.
  5. Thanks for posting this, Archie! Congrats on the weight loss. Sounds like Weight Watchers has really worked for you. I've heard the one day splurge really helps, too. I have a little notebook I keep in my purse. I will start tracking what I eat. My former Crossfit trainer was big into doing that. I've been looking at the No S diet because it sounds simple enough to do without having to fix myself something totally different from the family. I'm finally feeling well enough after surgery last month to try to get back into some semblance of shape. Every time I take my three to Crossfit Kids I feel like such a sloth, but I know Crossfit would kick my sorry ass as would pulling plastic right now. I keep telling myself baby steps, but it's a little depressing. This week I'm hoping to give skiing a try. First time since my accident in May. Cruiser runs with my six year old should make for a nice, easy time though.
  6. Thanks for the shout out, Bill! :kisss: Here's an inexpensive, last-minute stocking stuffer idea based on the twelve days of Christmas. All you need is a printer, then fill in what you're giving on each day. Perfect for kitchen passes for a day/weekend of climbing. Also these would work well for Ivan's suggestion above
  7. Mike, I'm in the US, but just wanted to let you know the two Amazon's don't work the same way. My books sold on both. Different versions based on foreign right sales. Sometimes the people who buy the UK versions (including hardcover) come over to the US and sell them for ridiculous amounts of money and vice versa. With third parties you have no recourse, since they own the books. Think eBay. I just checked your listing on the UK site and it is being sold by third parties, not Amazon UK. One seller says books are dispatched from NY, the other UK. The NY one is selling for 30.95 pounds. You might want to talk to your publisher about getting you onto Amazon UK. (And also make sure they don't have an arrangement with whoever is dispatching from NY.) As I mentioned above, there are foreign rights that come into play to sell overseas which is what makes it harder than you think it would be to just get a book on the UK site. Congrats on the review. Hope the article you wrote brings you many new sales!
  8. Congrats, Plaidman! Can't wait to read more
  9. I'm so sorry, Scott. Sending condolences and prayers to you, your family and friends.
  10. Great story, Sherri! And that mural is to die for! Gorgeous!
  11. Happy Birthday, Cutie! :kisss: Hope you're having fun!

    Snare kits?

Thanks Off_White. LOL on the guide/drummer jokes. I realized one of my FB friends from high school is now a band director near Olympia. He hooked me up with what I need know. One thing he did tell me is piano players make the best drummers. All three of my kids play the piano so maybe this won't be so bad. My oldest has played violin and now flute. We rented the violin, but bought the flute. My six year old would like to play violin. Sure wish I would still had that one! Renting makes no sense, I quickly realized!

    Snare kits?

Any drummers out there? My son wants to play drums in homeschool band. I need to get him a student snare kit. I can rent one, but I found a Pearl student set that seems a reasonable price (cheaper than what renting for a school year would be) and has everything he needs. I have no idea what the decent brand names for students are though. My google searches aren't turning up much. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thx.
  14. Scars are okay, but he must look hot, not like road kill. Though the teaming up of the M&Ms is a nice touch
  15. Imagining hunters in camo on the Hogsback picking off climbers one by one. No murder or mayhem or misfiring allowed in my story though.
  16. Hey, Jake, sorry to say, you already had your hero turn. You get to play sidekick to Sean Hughes in this book, though you do get to cuddle and kiss Carly who you've now married and impregnated. Nice work, man! Mt. Hood erupting would be cool, but spoil the Christmas setting. Too much ash. Think white fluffly snow and mistletoe kisses. No sex in my books so STDs are unlikely above the treeline or below it. Other than that, keep the ideas coming
  17. If anyone cares to help (just making me smile at this point would be great!), I need to stage an accident on Hood on Thanksgiving day for a sequel to my November Hood romance novel. Only requirements: 1) South side 2) Injured is a member of a mountain rescue group but not on a rescue at time of accident. 3) Injured can't have done something stupid to cause accident because he's the book's hero. 4) A Siberian Husky is with him so he can't be some place a dog shouldn't be (i.e. can't do something stupid.) 5) No tauntauns allowed. This is a romance, not science fiction, and I don't earn enough to deal with George's battalion of legal minions. Thanks! :kisss:
  18. Sounds like fun! Is Marcus doing this year's slide show?
  19. It sucks. On Tuesday, one of the best screenwriting teachers ever and a really nice guy, Blake Snyder, passed away from cardiac arrest at age 52.
