  1. I can wear a garbage bag liner in the rain and not have to spend $400-$600 on a fancy schmancy gortex coat. I just bring a cheap roll of duct tape to repair it when it gets torn. Then, I sleep in it so I don't have to spend $20 on a tent at WalMart, or carry all that extra weight either. Best of all, I can usually get free garbage liners at any gas station or deli. I just dump the contents of the bag right into the dumpster and, viola, I'm all set for my next outdoor adventure. I like to get a couple extra, just in case.

    Cherry Pie

Maybe if you fed that avitar it would stop making me ill?
  3. Looks like my holiday "training" has paid off... I've gotten fat, out of shape and considerably lazier than I already was.
  4. Black Slabbeth, that's classic!
  5. And I thought he got killed in Return of the Jedi... A long, long, long time ago in a galaxy far away. Phh. Every star wars fan knows he didn't really die in Episode 6. Oh, he must still be getting slowly digested over thousands of years in the belly of that huge sand monster hole thing? Maybe he got out for a few weeks to go skiing?
  6. Is that why most of the forum topics are climbing related? I don't see a specific forum for the lamest-est-es rock and roll topic but maybe I missed it while I was searching for climbing related topics here at cascadeclimbers.com website.
  7. My point is that poeple who climb, probably, in most cases, come to a climbing web site because that is the type of content they are seeking. If they were looking to see who thinks who is the lamest gee-tar player, they would likely go to a music type web site. I guess that makes YOU WRONG too. But most folks here are used to that.
  8. And, trucks are AID!
  9. And I thought he got killed in Return of the Jedi... A long, long, long time ago in a galaxy far away.
  10. Seeing how this is a climbing related web site, a lot more folks care about topics like this one than, say, who is the lamest singer type threads... That's who!
  11. My sixth sense tells me Ivan had to be involved. That sink is haunted for sure.
  12. $700 for boots is still pretty stiff, IMO. I thought I got a bargain on some new AT boots last year at $325. Gotta know exactly what you want and look for the deals, be sure to snag them when they pop up.
  13. "Shoplifting doesn't pay, but neither do I"...
  14. So I'm sitting here wasting time on cc.com and drinking my coffee when I get a call from a buddy. He tells me he is aid soloing Windsurfer and he just got a call from WA State Troopers demanding he come down right now so they can speak to him about "what just happened in the bathroom". I guess buddy calls me in case he needs to be bailed out or something. I figure someone was smoking dope in the bathroom and they are trying to pin it on him (but I don't think buddy even smokes dope). Anyway, he tells me it turns out to be a bomb threat. Something about a suspicious package found in the bathroom. The whole place is closed off while they investigate so don't bother heading over there if you had plans of a rainy suffer-fest today. Of all the places to bomb, why would someone choose to bomb the bathroom at Beacon Rock? Anyone heard from Ivan today?
  15. Glue diamonds on them. I prefer platinum, with the diamond tips, of course.
  16. Personally, I'd much rather pack an extra 16 ounces (or so) and have a bomber shelter that is free standing and plenty roomy for one, tight but workable for two. I have an old Sierra Designs (Sphynx I think) that weighs just over 3lbs and although it is a "3 season" tent, I have used it on plenty of winter trips and it did well, although a bit cool due to the extra venting it has. It sets up in a minute or two and is very bomber in the wind. To bad they don't make that model anymore. I lived in it for 3 months my first summer in Alaska and it rained most of the summer that year. I suppose the tarp tent has it's place but not for me. If I really want to save weight, I'll just use a bivy.
  17. The litter is annoying, especially the cig butts all over the routes. Some people got no respect.
  18. Hey Moof, I snapped a couple pics of you with my cell phone today. PM me if you want them. Nothing to exciting. I thought the Gatorade bottle was yours. I heard it falling down from somewhere and it scared the crap out of me as I first thought it was a rock coming down. I only little gear there. Looks like it will be pretty wet Sunday so good thing you got it done today.
  19. Nice TR. Funny how everyone says that the rock at RR is choas. I started climbing there and it never bothered me. Well, some of the lighter colored sandstone can be bad but the darker the better. Taken plenty of falls on all of it back in the day, never had any gear fail due to rock blowing out. Glad you had a good trip. Anyone going to be in Red Rocks next month? I will be there from Feb 18-24th and hoping to get on some of the sun blessed longer classics.

    G.D Dogs!

Sounds like you need to tune in to the new show "Dog Whisperer" on the Nat Geo channel. Dude comes in and magically corrects dog behavior issues by teaching dog owners to think like a dog instead of treating them like humans. I don't watch much TV but now that my DishNet receiver is on the fritz I only get one channel and that show seems to be on whenever I turn on the tube.
  21. Why charge him when it seems easier to just lock him up and throw away the key?
  22. Hey SC, welcome back!
