My wife is certainly got the Obama fever... she thinks he walks on water. Personally, I am skeptically optomistic. I am hoping he can deliver on much of the rhetoric and he seems to be quite capable and also seems to have a "balanced" approach but he sure has his work cut out for him right now. I'm also still pretty suspect of ANY politician, especially one that arose out of Chicago. All we can do is wait and see, and do our own part as well.

Someone was on Jill's the other day when we did the corner. Wind is really going now but at least the sun is supposed to be out again on Sunday. Buuurrrly in the shade for sure, not so bad in the sun though. Pretty sure Geoff was out today, maybe he can give an update on the epic-ness?

like trying to convince someone all their political beliefs are wrong, even when they've shown they'll never-ever change them? That's what make going to my parent's house for dinner so much fun... we can keep hashing out the same old crap and both sides will always know how wrong the other side still is.

The wind is nuking pretty steady right now. I was running down the trail yesterday and it felt like I was being pushed up backwards. Temps have been in the mid 30's but plenty of sunshine.

Both my wife & I look forward to when our kids are old enough that we can, once again, spend a summer or three up there. Till then, I will have to live vicariously through others here online.

I'll be in Vegas from Wed Feb 18 - Tue Feb 22nd. Hoping to get on some of the longer, sunny classics... Solar Slab, Black Orpheus, whatever is in the sun. I'm going for a buddy's wedding that will be on Sat so I'm likely not going to be climbing on Fri or Sat but hoping to get out to RR all the other days I'm there so long as the weather is good enough. PM if you will be in the area then. I'm also hoping to hook up with some of my old climbing partners from back in the day when I lived there.

Nice. I was checking out your website. Very cool to see you have done many of the same trips/peaks I did back in the day... Scott's Peak, Panorama... I worked at the lodge you stayed at in Kantishna - Denali Backcountry Lodge (hence my cc.com name). I spent 8 summers working for them, even met my wife there. Sure brings back some great memories. I've never bothered doing it, but I've seen some folks who, after cleaning up the skis at the end of the season, then coat the entire bottom & edges with a thick coat of wax and leave them that way till the next season. Supposed to protect the metal, seems to make sense, as it would let less oxygen from rusting the metal.

It is likely a tool they use to asses the overall risk employees pose. Kind of like when they check your credit report. Your credit report has nothing to do with your job but it gives the company insight of the person they are considering. I guess I should just STFU though cause I don't really know for sure, just a hunch.
