  1. That's pretty neat. I'm curious as to how they found out about this trip in the first place. Did you send them a press release? Begs the idea that a PR agency devoted to getting this kind of stuff out into the mainstream media might have a place in the world. 'Course it would be impossible to make money doing it, but whatever!!
  2. Funny, I was just about to weigh in here that David Whitelaw makes the nicest hand drawn topos I've ever seen. They are in his guidebooks published by the Mountaineers. David posted a post or two above me. Damn good looking and useful drawings. Hey Dave if you're reading, I need my Painters Painting tape back for inspirational viewing. Weren't you gonna also give me the drawing for the Dirt Circus topo for helping with the D-Town guide?
  3. I ate there once and didn't return--the idea of BBQ is rockin' but that place is not good.
  4. Can someone PM it to me? Thx.
  5. Thanks to Olympia Climber for organizing Mr_E for the generator AlpinFoxCoIkea PDXTG for the beers Tony, Colin, Wayne, AlpFox, Blake and whoever I forgot for the slide show. Nice GTG. My pal and I were glad to get out of there as the raindrops got more persistent this morning. Hopefully it dried out enough for more frolicking today.
  6. I don't want gas prices to go up, I want the Dems to take control of both houses of Congress.
  7. Is anyone else interested in a little potluckin'? I asked if this had happened in the past and was told that no, everyone looks enviously at the one guy's sandwich. I'd love to just bring one item, perhaps a nice slaw, and potluck my way through Saturday evening.....
  8. I met this guy down at Smif last weekend. His partner had forgotten to bring a belay device so I lent them my extra. They made sure to get it back to me that evening with many thanks, so someone should carpool with enelson, he's a nice cat.
  9. I will be there Friday night with another cc.commer. We can't get out of Seatown until about 4, so will be getting in evening-time-like.
  10. GWB: "I know Denny Hastert, and he's a heckuva guy.....and a parent" or something like that yesterday somewhere. Really disappointed to hear that Foley and Hastert both changed parties on Faux News yesterday. I suppose it's even more genius than having them step down.
  11. This is a little o/t, but didn't they just have a bloodless coup the week before last? Does that affect travel there at all?
  12. I'm proud to be mediocre at several outdoor activities!
  13. Hellerwork guy=Brad Harvey. PM me for details. Bring money, this kind of bodywork ain't cheap, even with insurance.
  14. Hellerworkers seem to know the most about psoas of anyone. How the heck did you hurt yours?
  15. Enumclaw's always been a little spangly for my redneck tastes, even when they still had a log scaling station outside of town, well before the McMansions. Maybe I'm a little behind the times, but my vote's for Lester. My dad used to have to go out there to scale when it was an active town, and I can still remember the squinty face my then-hippy dope smoker dad would make when he would say he had to go work in Lester, like he was smelling some unseen brown air or something.
  16. guess not.
  17. I don't have anything to add, just wanted to see if I got the little birthday cake icon under my name today.
  18. How about the Reading Gaol? I will be there celebrating my 40th.
  19. Every year at OR show they try to convince us to care about "Nordic Walking."
  20. Mike Swayne sometimes refers to me as "one of his wives." His real wife does not find this as amusing as Mike does.
  21. Here's a nice approach shoe: Scarpa Lite Ascent Good grip, nice sole, nice to walk in. Expensive. The link goes to the main page of Scarpa NA. Look in climbing/approach and then select that shoe if you want to have a look.

BIG KITTIES ARE THE BEST! DOWN WITH LETTER GAMES AND GEORGE BUSH.
  23. This has been a hella summer for buggies. I had an unfortunate bout with what I think was G last month. It seems to have cleared itself up, but I'm armed with antibiotics should it change its single-celled mind and return to my bowels. Ick.

    Bitterness

Is there a rule that there can be only one??
  25. Redfish Lake Lodge has the best damn mud pie ever. If you order it in the bar, ask the bartender to tell you the skunk story.
