They are? I'm a Trail Blazer and an ex-Hi-Laker, and I don't think that's correct. I can't even think who you might be talking about. Back on topic: practically anywhere there is a spot of blue in the high country is also a place to catch fish. If you want to hit low lakes this time of year, the bason lakes in Eastern Washington are in, and there are several lakes in the Hancock Tree Farm in the North Fork Snoqualmie area that have fish in them. Both areas are open now.

Are you talking about the trail from the west side, or the other trail from the east side? I think the way in from the west side has been closed permanently. The other side should be open and clear by now, but check Trip Reports for certainty.

So much of this comes down to fit on your particular body. Go to a reputable retailer or two (like Pro Mountain Sports) and try on some packs loaded, and with skis on them. I'm much more of a hiker than anything else, but almost always prefer the Osprey. I think it has a lot to do with boobs and my build in general. Tvash, your build is more universal to what ski pack designers are designing to than me, so you may fit a lot of them. Then it's about cost and features. And don't forget about Granite Gear. They are still independently owned and I know they want a piece of the ski mtneering market, so if their packs fit you, keep them in mind. Me, the torso is too short in general. Happy shopping, and email me if you want some of my help in picking out a pack.

Yes, they are most useful. No trails on most of the quads tho, best used in combination with Green Trails or Topo!.

Chinook Salmon and Bull Trout, both on the ES list, both in the Stilly, no?

The gov doesn't have a lot of sway over funding for federal lands. -
I don't like line-cutters whether they are Lebanese or not. Twisp, on the other hand...yesss..... Twisp River Pub plus Uncle Tricky works there. The grocery store makes kickass sammiches, and the Idle-a-While is a great place to sleep indoors. Yay Twisp. [/drift]

But she doesn't have broken feet to blame. Slut.

My doc and PT told me the same thing last fall. I said fuck it and went climbing. I might as well had gone to jail for six months. It totally fucked my recovery.* *your mileage may very.

My ass resembles that remark. So SHUT UP!

It's really not that compelling an issue anyway, so whatever.

I totally agree with what you guys are talking about vis a vis climbing TRs on the climbing site. SDame with hiking TRs on the hiking site. Totally welcome any and all. We get a lot of new folks over on the other site, and encouragement is what we all try to bring. A few TRs on road trips, mountain bike rides, climbing, whatever every so often is cool and good, but when there start being a lot, it dilutes the whole TR idea.

Wow, I almost slept through this entire thing. What a shitstorm over nothing. Kind of funny to be getting called out on not getting out though--that's the least of my concerns. Nice to see you guys.

I've been getting customs made by the UW orthotics school students for years. Some good, some bad, some great. Comfortwise the cork ones have always been my faves, but they "pack out" after a while. Last year, both sets the kids made me hurt my feet in odd ways and so the instructor whipped out a pair for me. They are pretty rockin' as long as I wear them almost every day. These ones are semi-hard ones and there's nothing really to pack out on them. My biggest foot problem is arthritis in the subtalar joint, and the footbeds hold the bone in a neutral position where it doesn't hurt too much. I'm thinkin' after I get some bone spurs removed I might be able to run again. I totally swear by orthotics.

diet, mountaineering, and bogus rock climber?
marylou replied to Jens's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
I think both Jens and AK would benefit from putting running into their workout programs. There's nothing on this green earth that will make you leaner, faster. If I could still run without pain I'd sure as hell do it. Jens you are always going to fight your body type with sport climbing, especially if you keep at the other sports. AK, you're a natural athlete so given a bit more time I bet it all comes back to you. As I recall, you were very lean before you got hurt, and it seems to me you told me you'd been running. Plus AK your outdoor pursuits reflect your body type. Jens, if you really want to get out of the .12s (why) then what else are you willing to sacrifice to make it so? -
Lots of climbing reports over on the hiking site lately. It was especially in vogue for a time to do lengthy TRs about clipping bolts at Vantage, complete with many, many pictures and 'attaboy/girls'. Oh so hardcore.

Congratulations Minx. We girls know how nice it is to have a good hair day. I was wearing a hardhat for the better part of the morning, so I have Hardhat Hair, which is the opposite of good hair. It's okay though, that's why they made hats.

I've used online HR Block for three years now. It works great, all previous info is imported from the year before, costs ten bucks.

Dude, you must have really pissed off Willie to have him try to kill you. When I've temporarily had masterly dog responsibility of him, all he does is try to kiss me to death.

I worked on that play in the late 1980s. We did the first workshop production of it at Pioneer Square Theatre. Carolyn, I work in theatre, but since I do it for money, and not because it's my passion. I never work in small community theatres and almost never work freelance (ie not represented). I'm not sure how much to ask from them moneywise. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me, I do have a bit of experience in this type of work.
