D and H has crappy parking. So does Lock and Keel. Still, I might show. I like the L and K a little better. I can drive one-handed, but I really hate to, so if anyone can pick me up in the north end of Ballard, I'd be much obliged. Actually I do okay with the driving part, but parallel parking is oh so suck with a broken wing.

No, I tried that one on Murder Island a couple of weeks ago, thinking I was already on the onramp to the freeway outta there. Night time, poor signage, not my neck of the woods...anyway, no, Olympia Climber, you do not want to be gunning it when they get you, because it's not one of these little sissypants five-over 'tickettes'. So then life seemed to be going too well, so last night I decided to break my wrist at work, in like five places. That ought to make life interesting....

Carolyn, I have a good friend who's lived in Bend for eleven years, and I've been down to visit about a million times. It's really not that inexpensive to live there, prepare to pay a lot for things. That said, I envy you--it's really an awesome place. You don't need money to be happy anyway, everyone knows that.

They are going to do a news story on this on All Things Considered (NPR) in about five minutes.

I wish I could have been there. FYI that bottle of otter sauce is safe and sound in my refrigerator, where it lives comfortably when not adorning meat.

Did I miss the thread, or is there no PC this week?

The innernet seems to have allowed people to loose there abelities to use the right word. I think its making people alliterate.

Well the gay jokes are offensive, it's just that some battles are not worth fighting. [sarcasm] Anyway, everyone knows that gays are the new black people. [/sarcasm]

Just another fancy term for "we're bullies" not unlike the old "gunboat diplomacy."

I'll show if there's a deal going on.

Couple of comments: The REI Sub Kilo is a nice bargain, but the baffles are sewn through on the side opposite the zipper so you can't move the down around. I almost bought one, but that was a deal-breaker for me. I've slept a few nights in a Valandre bag, and I have to say that it was the nicest bag I ever slept in. I'm a big fan of FF and WM, but the Valandre is completely in a class by itself.

I've only had mine out for a few trips, so it's too early to really say much. What's odd about the 60 I have? I asked for a 60 because I will probably have to carry fish fry in it this summer and the extra volume will be useful for that.
-
I have one too. You can borrow it if you want, I should have it for the better part of the summer.

I think she is trying to hurt my feelings...and, well, she's succeeding.

That jacket looks cute. Can I have it?

Anybody want to go fly fishing?

Those balloon payments can be a real PITA!

Actually, the Ballard Barbie has a refined sense of humor, rather than just lamely laughing at anything, even if it's not really funny, just stupid.

Seattle women aren't homemakers, they tend to have jobs. Maybe you are thinking of homemaker Ken. Try a Prius. This ain't Issaquah. Surely you jest! In Seattle? Try and REI backpack that she uses as a purse/briefcase. It probably needs to be washed. Yoga? Uh, try trail running with the family dog. You're sure this is Seattle Barbie, right? Even if she wanted to stay home, she works, because their Ballard bungalow was $600,000. Yeah, that's really Seattle. You see a lot of that Botox-and-Percocet thing in the city....NOT. Starbucks is for tourists. The locals like Appassionato, Vivace, and might tote a mug from one of the Cafe Divas scattered around the city. Sounds like he lives in the midwest. Wouldn't Ken be into mountain biking, organic gardening, and tele skiing? If he fishes, it's fly fishing, and he throws them back instead of killing them. Sounds like a generic Barbie to me. Nothing Seattle about this tiny plastic dame.

Hear Ye, Hear Ye: Pub Club will be held tonight at the Nickerson Street Pub in Seattle, just south of the Fremont Bridge. Nice people, good times. If you've never been to Pub Club, come on down and meet some of the crazy personalities you know from this here website!

From what Wirly said in his early statments, he might have seen that firing coming.

If it's in Ballard, I might deign to attend.

It's difficult to compare boil times between the Jetboil and other stoves as well. The standard lab boil test involves boiling a liter of water and the J'boil holds a half liter. I did the standard lab test with the J'boil and a number of other stoves, adjusting the water amount to a half liter in all stoves, and the J'boil was not the fastest, but it was competitive. I did not replicate the test in the field, nor did I do the fuel efficiency tests.
