  1. I sincerely with JC was a president in this day and age, he was/is a quality chap. Not the shallow, self serving shit we have these days.

  3. Nice! and kudos to the shop and the folks with the honesty to respond to pulic query. Mistakes are easy to make but to admit and be honest is a rare thing in this day and age. Both employees of BPS I think deserve much credit to being open and honest! Cheers!

DUDE! He did the like Seattle Tonight back in the late 70's or early 80's? He had some faux fro correct? I remember TOTALLY watching that and on his last show he had the now Vegas Based comedian Pete Barbuti on and he did his gig where he plays a broom as a musical instrument!! Funny thing is Pete was one of my customers at Starbucks when I lived down there and I said to him, "WOW I rememeber you from when I was a kid! I dont think he laughed at that tho

  6. I usually use a bod harness and a prong collar on her. If it's hot, a pre moistened bandanna keeps her cool. Jumar the dog on Granite Mtn.
  7. WooT! Soon to change! Incoming dumbdown, mebbe they will make a line of via ferrata specific footwear now?
  8. I want to hear about this too! I have known "Pope", since the Tacoma Mountaineers basic climbing course in about 1984/5. I don't feel that I can comment at this time without violating some sacred trust. However, if anyone in the greater Tacoma area can allow me to scan some slides, I may be able to provide some insight into the complexities of the 1980's in reference to this topic thru another medium.

  10. I have usually parked and ridden in on mountain bike from the vail rd entrance. Logging does happen on the weekdays and the gate is usually open but you will be locked in if you stay late or they punch out for miller time early. Logging trucks are especially scary when encountered in their natural habitat. Pope and I once got stuck in and randomly found a small gated community, we got to their locked entry gate but had to wait till someone came home to let us out. I would make a nice day of it and ride mountain bike or motorized "scooter".

    Tricams...?

Yup all of the above posts are "the stuff". When I was starting to lead (1985) I grabbed a set of Tri-Cams and without practicing with them I led out on upper Pisces (5.6) at Index. I placed 5 pieces then after fumbling out of a lieback 15' up I fell back to the belay and all the tricams joined me Luckily I didnt pitch over the 10a section. Learing to Jam AND using SLCD's will make your life alot easier. For me Tricams have come into their best on funky Sandstone pockets and oddness in Red Rocks but they are an indispensable piece once you learn their limits. I posted a series of scans from the first Tri-Cam info brochure in the Photo Gallery. Scan thru my images HERE to read all about them!

I THINK IT'S RUDE THAT YOU POST THAT NEGATIVE STUFF ABOUT THE LOVELY OLSEN TWINS WHEN THEY ARE CLEARLY IN A "RACOON LOOK ALIKE CONTEST" AND MOST CERTAINLY APPROPRIATELY DRESSED TRYING TO WIN IT. Sorry if I sound a bit pissy. Anyway, we all know that's really Tammy Faye Baker on the left and her daughter. You know what it reminds me of? It's like that old army trick where you rub charcoal on the eye piece of the binoculars and hand them to the victim, "hey! look at that!". DUDE! I totally saw that in that episode of MASH where BJ did that to Colonel Potter!

  17. More like I value getting the complete package when it comes to recordings such as that. I am kind of a "complete package" nut and even tho I cant get the original disc, I am stoked to have a near exact dupe. Granted I realize Mp3 192 and above is pretty good, I just sleep better at night with flac
  18. Not about "stealing", but rather the aquisition and sampling of new varieties and how to do it using the most optimal digital audio quality options available. Sampling, sampling, sampling, sister thats where its at I am just amazed tho at the amount of folks who rip elegant tracks at 128 and think that is sufficient!?! FLAC at the lowest compression may be a bit big but the lossless format will ensure amazing reproduction. EAC is also a superb way to go versus the standard flac frontend. You may "own" your music but what about buying a copy of "Mahler - Symphonies 3,6,10 - Charles Adler (1950's Mono) (Very Rare)", it's doubtful you could for a decent price. But you could "aquire" it as a FLAC for free.

  21. Back when Napster was the uber, be all end all of p2p, I was stoked when I could get an entire album at an mp3 bitrate of 192 or 256. Now I wont even stand for mp3 files, lossy rubbish mp3 is!!! These days its .FLAC, .APE or .OGG. Anyone else fine they have become a digi snob?
