  1. Sure, noobs are welcome, though the routes mostly range from 10b to 12c. Shoot me a PM when you're back and I'll send you directions.
  2. This is not a healthy obsession you're developing.
  3. For some reason, I never see those ads... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865
  4. I wouldn't think it's good news if conservatives are going to eat the smart ones like Frum. Bet Buckley is spinning in his grave.
  5. What with the time change and drier weather, looks like we're back on for the 7th season of Olympia Climbing Wednesdays. Had a great evening last night with the entire right side dry. Look for some lovely anchor upgrades this year too...
  6. This is how I misread your post out of the corner of your eye. More of a comment on my fuzzy vision than anything you're likely to say Excellent beta all around. With a party of three, think about double ropes and autoblocking devices, get both those followers moving at the same time. The sport climbing is good stuff, but it's the long routes that are the most amazing.
  7. Team WayneBeau sickie rides again! Way to stick with the obsession, looks like you had a really swell time.
  8. I liked this comment posted after the article:
  9. Rampart Ridge looks like it might have a relatively solid section, though it does sit on top of a huge talus fan. This is roughly across from Eagle Peak.
  10. The quarry Tenino is probably an hour and a half from Seattle, so not your closest, and the rock requires several days of dry weather to be climbable, so it may not be your best bet. It's private property, so if you're interested you should pm me for details.
  11. bstach, that's Woodson in San Diego County.

  13. Too far for your criteria, but the concept deserves a photo
  14. If we had an archive of sage advice for climbers, this post would belong there.
  15. The best place in Washington to find "granite as clean and polished as in yosemite" is in Squamish. The Sierra Nevada has generally better rock, but the Cascades have better ambiance. Plus, pulling hard at 8000' is more fun than doing the same at 13,000 for a flatlander like me.
  16. At least with a scab, you can eat it after you've picked it.
  17. All the video you can find of this thing seems to have the pilot's feet about 3' off the ground with a couple of handlers always present on the sides to stabilize it. What we've seen so far in comparison to other ultralight aircraft is like comparing this to this
  18. In over 50 years I've never been in a situation where having a gun would make anything better or safer, so naturally I find Tvash's post very convincing and agree wholeheartedly. Those rules for staying safe unarmed in Hluhluwe Park? They work pretty well out and about in the urban world too.
  19. Yup, third time around. First time was a trainer in Canada, second was a whacko who stayed hid out in the park after closing and was found dead, naked, & scraped up on the bottom of the tank, and the recent trainer is the third. For the record, Tilli is from Iceland, not Canada; that's just where she got trained.
  20. They're a buncha sore loser hockey alsorans to boot.
  21. What, you don't know about the new Petzl laminated Route 'n Rope Tags? A must have for any serious modern route worker.

    Poor Dick

Its nice that he's always supported his lesbian daughter, with no flinches or apologies. That pretty much exhausts the nice things I have to say about Dick Cheney.
  23. What route is that?

  25. Well, if you don't get out of town, looks like some of the usual suspects will be out here about noon on Saturday...
