Dude, we've seen your velcro gloves. When I lived in Bozeman the guys that make these things would come in during the graveyard shift at Kinko's and get me to burn hundreds of copies of their flyer. I was floored that they were making a business of it. Get a lot of interesting folks in a small town copy shop in the middle of the night. Lambone, do you know these guys?

323.5. But, the thing is rigged. The speed of the penguin changes a little randomly each time around. So, there's really no skill involved other than clicking at about the right time. Ever notice you'd seem to get the hang of it and then a big whiff? Do you really want to gamble against computers?

Is the DSL modem also a router? Are there multiple ports on it for your systems? If so you probably need to setup port forwarding on the appropriate tcp/udp ports so they get passed on to your system. They're currently being blocked inbound by the router. If this seems like it may be the problem, PM me w/ the specifics of the DSL modem/router (mfg, model #) and I'll at least try to get you hooked up w/ Kazaa. You should use Kazaa Lite anyway to avoid spyware.

You know the drill. Show your trailer park == fatty tie-in data. This doesn't count

better yet, click here to skip the info gathering page and just get the file. Although it's a bit tame. Where's the figure 4 or heel hooks.

I'll echo the sentiment. Even if you're looking for a non-existant ice-runnel, eh? Definitely some of the most consistently good conditions I've seen on Hood. The best line would be the west face below Crater Rock. I'd have thrashed through the grimness on the upper Palmer if I hadn't seen your lines looking so sweet, Iain. Kinda grabby down low, but a solid 9 for a big mountain ski.

I have one. It was a 2nd from TNF in Bend. However, it's black. I've only used it a couple times, it's still in excellent shape. It's a large. I'd take $160 for it.

It's been getting younger and younger. I think the previous was 4 or so. It's the Mazama version of beauty pageants. But where can I get tiny shorts and polypro?

Easy now, you've got some competition around here. Here's my girl, working on her bivy skills Someone in the Mazamas got their 3 year old up Old Snowy this fall under their own power. Achievements of a different sort.

Looks like quite a bit of precip down low. June Lake Snotel

A new line of gaper gear. The OG collection.

For easiest gluing get a couple pieces of glue from a good ski shop. The glue comes already rolled out between two paper or plastic release layers. Once you've got the old glue off, peel it, stick it, trim it. Last I checked, The Mountain Shop did the whole deed for $25. Seems like a pretty good deal to me. Probably gone up by now. Are reservations needed for the Tilly Jane AFrame?
jaee replied to Gaper_Jeffy's topic in the *freshiezone*
Elaborate, please. I've been to the A-frame a few times. What's the cook hut? Also, the Hood River nordic club has a nice cabin on the other side of the creek in Tilly Jane campground. I think it cost $65 a night, but sleeps 15 or so people. It has a propane stove and lights, so you're paying for convenience. -
Donkey Kong & Donkey Kong Jr. I had Jr. wired. Could play for an hour or so on a quarter. I even did OK w/ Dragons Lair. I think it was the first 50 cent game I ever saw. Asteroids. Star Castle. Frogger. Space Invaders. Galaga. Galaxian. Commander Keen. The first scroller. good ol' Doom. Nothing like stalking your buddies w/ the rocket launcher. Mortal Kombat was cool. My buddies ripped the keyboard drawer off my desk battling each other.

Not complaining about the size, but the fact that it's static. I've never caught an actual crevasse fall. I have fallen into a slot before and was surprised at how far I went. That was on a 9mm. Just seems like the initial pull would be a lot higher w/ a static line.
-
Have you ever caught anyone on this rope? If not I'd suggest you practice on a "safe" cornice or short drop-off somewhere. You may be surprised at the difference between 20-30 m. of dynamic rope and this static line. I'd be afraid of snatching my partner off his feet and dragging him along before he could get an axe in. I've seen glacier ropes at gear shops, usually 30-35 m. of around 9 mm dynamic rope for $40-50. Anyone else think using static line for glacier travel is a bad idea?

Those Irbus (sp?) screws used to sell at REI for like $12.95. I picked up a few. Then I saw a bunch of negative comments about them. So I called REI. A few calls later they fax me a report of some pull testing they did with those screws. 5 screws, each pulled between 2200 and 2800 lbf. So, I felt a little better about dragging them along as leavers, since they'd actually do the job if they had to.

Or maybe your clock radio doesn't have to still reliably work after going thru a huge slide. Or function in wet and cold conditions. How much did you pay for your last cellphone? It functions in all of the above. And it's alot more high tech, alot smaller, and cheaper than a beacon. I think most cell phone manufacturers will disagree, especially where moisture, shock, and vibration are concerned. Try this test. Put your cell phone in a ziplock w/ a spoonful of water. Now shake it up. Put it in a warm area for a couple of hours, then into the freezer for a couple more. Repeat w/ the tranceiver. Now turn them on. Publish the results. Also, see if your cell phone company will honor the warranty for equipment w/ moisture damage. Also, the cost of a cell phone is buried in the service plans. Try buying a decent new cell phone without signing up for a couple year service plan and see how cheap they really are. I'd also guess that the liability issues on safety equipment like avy beacons are a bit more complex than on a cell phone. This adds costs to the business developing the beacons.

Gets my vote for most stupid piece of gear. Although the custom GU pouches are a close second. The electric carabiners are great though.
