Education never discriminated between cool people and assholes. Having a degree does not mean you are a good person.

good question. according to the first online dictionary I used, it defines hick as "an unsophisticated, boorish, and provincial person; rube" that definition is not too far off, even accounting for his ability to do brain surgery. denial of evolution is pretty unsophticated. saying that muslims should not be elected to president is pretty boorish, (unmannered; crude; insensitive)

Calm down Ben. Take a deep breath. this is nothing to get all excited about. there are bigger fish to fry and expend your negative energies towards. I appreciate the name change and I am sure the natives to alaska do to. By last self analysis I may be a douchebag, spoiled, dirtbag or an asshole. but I def am not stoned or a kid and quite possibly no longer a climber. (for now) I think your definition of people who care about this name change is a little harsh. or are you stoned? "douchebag spoiled stoned asshole college kids or maybe dirtbag climbers"

Someone with creative writing skillz (Ivan?) could write a fictitious TR based on these photos -
if i was a betting man, I would put it on either Walker or Kasich. Kasich could come out from the bloody battles as the only one without a despicable past (lehman excluded) and somewhat right center to be a contender. I think Walker may have too much dirt on him.

how about this cat? Declared 2016 Republican Presidential Candidate Eric Cavanagh American Progressive Eric Scott Cavanagh Born: unknown [Eric Cavanagh for President] Eric Scott Cavanagh is silent on personal information such as his academic credentials and employment history. This may be because he prefers to focus fully on his presidential bid, about which he is passionate. He pleads with the American public to end the “oppressive nightmare” of the Obama administration, and implies that President Obama wishes to destroy the United States. In explicitly begging for support, he cautions that if people do not vote for him, “there won't be anyone left to vote!” In addition to a verse from the book of Philippians, Cavanagh includes on his official campaign site a quote from the Holy Quran, and he makes reference to “The Great Prophet Mohammed”, although he is not explicit about his religious faith. Cavanagh identifies as a Republican “American Progressive” candidate; politically, he tends towards policies that are left of center. He wishes to institute a pension plan for all Americans, paid for by the US government. He opposes any and all tort limits on medical malpractice lawsuits. And critically, he supports “Hillarycare”, the healthcare reform proposal backed by Hillary Clinton, and which has been widely criticized by Republicans for its similarity to Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”). He also favors a 5% “Straight Federal Tax”, however, to replace and eliminate all state income taxes, which would likely result in a substantial overall reduction of taxes – this could be seen as a conservative position. Additionally, in a move with strong potential appeal to the religious right, he supports a 100% tax on all forms of pornography. Some of Cavanagh's more novel ideas include instructing police officers to credit drivers with “negative tickets” for responsible driving, elimination of “Most Favored Nation” status, and the establishment of a tax-free zone in Delaware and Detroit, Michigan to draw businesses. Cavanagh wishes to eliminate the electoral college through a Constitutional amendment, abolish all liquor and inheritance taxes, and restructure the military so that the Air Force and Marine Corp are absorbed in the Army and Navy, respectively, leaving only two branches (the Coast Guard, he says, should also be joined into the Navy). He also proposes the decidedly radical idea of “mandatory expungement”: Anyone convicted of a felony will have their record cleared in 6 months, 3 months for a misdemeanor conviction, with arrest records similarly wiped. With a generally left-leaning platform that nevertheless veers into hardcore conservative territory on a few issues, Cavanagh may experience difficulty finding his political niche. The Republican party with which he has chosen to align himself may appreciate his intentions towards tax eliminations, and some would applaud his rigid anti-pornography stance, but it is those same issues that risk offending the left-of-center voters who may approve of most of his ideas.

it is a bit early for making such a expensive bet. Hillary was the obvious choice 8 years ago at the same point in campaign. 'merica is a fickle land where choices are often based on illogical reasoning. Emotions get involved. 'merica does not like dynasties (it has the word "nasties" inside) and betting that two dynasties make the ticket is a bold bet against this natural bent. Go Bernie all the way!

Heard from a mtn guide that the south side of baker was pretty bad right now. Can only imagine the BS pain in the ass it will be by october. In normal years, the south side of baker is a pain by early september. other than glacier type climbs, really everything should be good for your time frame. +1 to what Curt said above.

Man vs. Grizzly Bear in Rogers Pass

I am calling BS on the go pro / knife thing Canada[edit] The Criminal Code of Canada. Section 84(1) defines "a knife that has a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device attached to or in the handle of the knife" as a prohibited weapon.[10][11] Only persons who have been granted exemption by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police through the Canadian Firearms Program are allowed to possess (but not acquire) prohibited weapons. If a person is found in unauthorized possession of a prohibited knife by any law enforcement officer, the person is liable to a maximum of 5 years in jail and the weapon being seized. The crown can then apply to a provincial court judge for the weapon to be forfeited and destroyed. The import and export of prohibited weapons is also strictly regulated and enforced by the Canada Border Services Agency.[12] Examples of prohibited knives include:[13][14] any knife, including a switchblade, gravity knife, or butterfly knife with a blade that opens automatically by gravity or centrifugal force or by hand pressure applied to a button, spring or other device in or attached to the handle of the knife; Constant Companion (belt-buckle knife); finger rings with blades or other sharp objects projecting from the surface; push daggers Manually-opened or 'one-handed' opening knives, including spring-assisted knives, that do not fall within the categories listed as prohibited weapons definition are legal to own, import and use.[15] There is no length restriction on carrying knives within the Criminal Code of Canada, but there is a prohibition against carrying a knife if the possessor intends to carry for a purpose dangerous to public peace or for the purpose of committing a criminal offense.[16] 89. (1) Every person commits an offence who, without lawful excuse, carries a weapon, a prohibited device or any ammunition or prohibited ammunition while the person is attending or is on the way to attend a public meeting. -

I may regret this later but I don't think bears are that much of a problem. not like in the sierras. the bigger animal to worry about it various small rodents and crows. Having a food bag hanging is a big open invitation for them. they can't resist a backpack laying on the ground. I have never had a problem with simply putting my food bag either between the two sleepers at night and in my sleeping bag during the day. Now if you are eating grilled salmon and trout every night you may need more measures.

If you had left out the reason you don't care to keep it you would have sounded like a good Samaritan instead. honesty never got anyone anywhere. maybe there is a lost and found thread on a mountaineers website. as a bonus, you know how to word the posting.
