Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 Or gotten your first PAGEMOTHERFUCKINGTOP?! Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 'Cause, hey, you just missed a prime opportunity. Beer:30; adieu! Quote
jkrueger Posted January 11, 2003 Author Posted January 11, 2003 I think the initiation depends on how the poster comes across. Some are timid and just looking for beta or a climbing partner, in which case they are not harassed too much. But then some, like DFA, come out with both guns blazing and meet fierce resistance! And then there is always the possibility that it's an avatar, in which case they are jumped on immediately. And if it's obviously a woman, well, we all know what happens then! Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 Perverse PMs from trask? Bien sur que oui! Quote
ChrisT Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 yes - sadly many a woman's been chased from this board you need some real cajones to tough it out! Quote
ryland_moore Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 A horny homemaker with cajones? Scary! Maybe not in Trask's world, but definately in mine! I can get into some weird sh%t, but I draw the line when it comes to switch hitting! Yeah, I endured the newbie hazing b/c my vocabulary sucks and had to deal with rants from Trask and Dru. But I think that is in the past now that I have overcome my depression and took english lit. classes again Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 I would think that the gals who are tough enough for cc.com must be tough climbers and good partners. They know how to roll with the punches and accept adversity with good humor. Quote
snoboy Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 You also forgot the "Canadian" option!!! You know, the ones who define themselves by who they aren't, i.e. not americans. Quote
RobBob Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 Ya mean perverted, not perverse. Well, this confirms the suspicion I had...that all those gurls answering pm's on "whosin" are communicating w/ trask! Quote
sk Posted January 11, 2003 Posted January 11, 2003 Not ALWAYS... some times we actualy talk to eachother, or (gasp) plan some sort of outdoor outing Quote
rbw1966 Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 The lurkers are the "neutrinos" of CC.com uh? like wire-gate biners? They freak out trad climbers? Quote
pope Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 uh? like wire-gate biners? They freak out trad climbers? First time I saw one, I must admit I was "freaked out". I recall thinking that it looked like an industrial-strength diaper pin. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted January 12, 2003 Posted January 12, 2003 It's not DFA's fault that ~75% of the personnel on this BBS are chronic knee-jerk sportophobes, or that some goombah started a political discussion about bombing Iraq shortly after Dr. Flash Amazing showed up. Happenstance, merely happenstance. Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 rwb, I was referring to the massless subatomic particle, but we might was well talk about biners (good joke). I'm a trad climber and I use Neutrino carabiners. They are the lightest made as far as I know. Supposedly they are quite strong. I only have a few. They don't frighten me. Should they? Should I save them for ice climbing only? That seems to be what they were designed for. BTW, my freshman chemistry prof was Fredrick Reines, the discoverer of the neutrino. Did you know that millions of neutrinos are streaming through your body as you read this? Quote
rbw1966 Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 rwb Its rbw. I was referring to the massless subatomic particle, but we might was well talk about biners (good joke). It is a climbing board. God firbid we steeer the conversation back to climbing. They don't frighten me. Should they? When they were first introduced a lot of climbers were skeptical of their safety--especially the old school aid and trad climbers. In fact, though, wire gate biners tend to be stronger then their more solid appearing brethren. Lighter and less gate flutter too. Did you know that millions of neutrinos are streaming through your body as you read this? Sounds painful. Quote
sk Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 (edited) Did you know that millions of neutrinos are streaming through your body as you read this? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sounds painful. for me how painful it is depends on how many miles I've hiked Edited January 13, 2003 by Muffy_The_Wanker_Sprayer Quote
Dru Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 Did you know that millions of neutrinos are streaming through your body as you read this? I read somewhere that the Russians experimented with using neutrino beam acupuncture to speed healing in the 1980s, with some success. They were able to get a dog to regrow a severed leg. However the process was never tested on humans due to the unfortunate side effects. Quote
texplorer Posted January 13, 2003 Posted January 13, 2003 Maybe you could go on TV and sell the RONCO Neutrino, the next wave in painless home acupunture. Maybe we could even put some of the out of work climbers here to work on the infomercial or answering phones. Quote
