Weekend_Climberz Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 How about we propose questionairre system to verify if the person is a NW (Canadian and Alaskans accepted) climber, but the questions must be unGoogleable (is that a new word ): 1. What is a snafflehound? (that'll weed out a bunch of people) 2. What are we referring to when we say "The Mountain" (this maybe more of a WA than Canadian question)? 3. Who is Fred Beckey? (that's for shits and giggles) 4. What is a glacier and why are they dangerous? (weed out people from california and colorado) 5. If your partner says bring the 9 mil, what is he referring to? (for weeding out gangsta's) 6. Which season is longer, ice climbing season or ski season? 7. What's the difference between climbing in winter and winter conditions? 8. Who holds the speed climbing record on Mt. Hood, Mt Rainier, Mt Adams, and Mt Baker? 9. Have you ever bolted a crack? 10. Do you know what horsecock and the Nodder are? Quote

tbunch Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I spent a long night trying to fend off snafflehounds w/ my 9 mil at St. Elmo's Pass before I discovered that cranking the Mountain on my boombox kept them away, but then we couldn't sleep. So... long story short, we just got up, bolted down some crack and traipsed up Liberty Ridge. Can I get my Real Cimber's Guild Card now? Quote
