gyselinck Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 Everyone goes there, but keep em' coming! I need ideas. Quote
Alpinfox Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Â Weekend? Skaha, Smith. That's all I can think of for reasonable weekend trips. Rocky Butte? Quote
Weekend_Climberz Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Sorry that would be Cerro Torre in the Patagonia Quote
gyselinck Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 THose are all great ideas, but where would you go if you were a poor boy and didn't have acess to a teleportation device. Quote
Alpinfox Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 THose are all great ideas, but where would you go if you were a poor boy and didn't have acess to a teleportation device. Â Did you not see the Skaha and Smith recommendations? Those are your best options for a weekend trip outside of WA. Quote
gyselinck Posted November 10, 2005 Author Posted November 10, 2005 I saw the smith but not the Skaha, never heard of it. Im googling it now. Quote
turn_one Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 well if you could get your hands on a low power teleportation device i would suggest red rocks...vegas baby. course i got snowed out last year this time in one of those f-ing 'storms of the century' or something. Quote
EWolfe Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 The Verdon Gorge of Washington: Frenchman's Coulee! Quote
specialed Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Sorry that would be Cerro Torre in the Patagonia  You have a unique talent for stating the obvious. Quote
chucK Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Considering it's a three day weekend, you could do yourself right at Red Rocks. Â There's a damn early direct flight down there that'll get you in at like 8:30am (brutally early to get up though that day if you follow the get there two hours early rule) and plenty of 9pm type flights that will allow you to have a day that ends with arriving at the car after dark and still get you to the airport in plenty of time. Â Gotta spend $$$ on flight, parking and rental car though (probably like $300/person) Quote
eric8 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 nobody has mentioned city of rocks? Or not out of washington but that limestone sport crag north of spokane... forgot the name its in smoot though Quote
MCash Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 There are 3 limestone sport crags north of Spokane. There is also stuff in Idaho like Hell's Canyon. Quote
Dru Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 oh yeah, city of rocks in november will be sooooo warm Quote

RuMR Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 New River at thanksgiving is totally hit-or-miss...it can be damn cold at thanksgiving with a foot and a half of snow on the ground...or it could be primo climbing conditions... Â I know, that is my home crag...i wanna go back this spring... Â My vote for turkey day would be I N D I A N C R E E K!! Quote
