THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE CASCADES OF SOUTHWEST

WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON.

 

.DAY ONE...TODAY

 

SNOW IS EXPECTED TODAY AND TONIGHT WITH THE SNOW LEVEL LOWERING TO

5000 FEET IN THE AFTERNOON AND 4000 FEET TONIGHT. ACCUMULATIONS UP TO

4 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ABOVE 5000 FEET THIS AFTERNOON WITH AN

ADDITIONAL 4 INCHES POSSIBLE ABOVE 4000 FEET TONIGHT.

 

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY

 

SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE MONDAY AND TUESDAY WITH THE SNOW LEVEL AS

LOW AS 4000 FEET FOR POSSIBLE SNOW ACCUMULATIONS DOWN TO PASS LEVELS.

A CHANCE OF SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE MOST DAYS FOR THE REMAINDER OF

THE WEEK.

...SNOW ADVISORY HAS BEEN ISSUED AND IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM PDT

MONDAY FOR THE CASCADES IN LANE COUNTY...THE NORTHERN OREGON CASCADES

AND THE SOUTH WASHINGTON CASCADES...

 

SHOWERS SPREADING ONSHORE TONIGHT AND EARLY MONDAY WILL LIKELY DROP

AROUND 6 INCHES OF NEW SNOW IN THE SOUTH WASHINGTON AND NORTH AND

CENTRAL OREGON CASCADES. THE HIGHEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE AT

THE SKI RESORTS. FROM 2 TO 4 INCHES OF NEW SNOW ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE

MAJOR PASSES ACROSS THE CASCADES. THE SNOW LEVEL WILL BE AROUND 4000

FEET TONIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING.

 

MORE SNOW IS EXPECTED ABOVE ABOUT 5000 FEET LATE MONDAY THROUGH

TUESDAY AS ANOTHER PACIFIC SYSTEM MOVES ONSHORE.

 

USE CAUTION IF TRAVELING THROUGH THE CASCADES THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF

THIS WEEK AS ROADS MAY BE SNOW COVERED AT TIMES.

ha! that's the classic october post. the kind of post that gets tex and rumr all riled up. Winter's coming when T-line breaks out the snow awning on the entrance!

went to the new tgr film friday...bad idea. we need more snow now! the board is tuned, the tele stix are tuned, the skate skis are tuned...and the ice axes are restless. bring it on. snaf.gif

i am going skiing this weekend. hopefully it will be better than oct 2. was out yesterday scoping climbing routes for this winter. snow is flying up top, can't wait for it to make it down to sea level.
