David_Parker Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 DIRECTIONS TO CABIN IN SEPARATE POST in climbers board unless a mod moves it.
Double_E Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 still strongly considering going... and if so i can take two others in the car. can leave friday morning (say by like 10 am or so) & get in a short ski-tour friday on the way to mazama. need to be back in seattle by 8 pm on sunday tho, so sunday would be a short ski (or maybe just recovery) day. Â whether i go will mostly depend on whether anyone else is either (a) a beginner b/c skier, and/or (b) feels like skiing with one. on groomers i'm a solid, fast blue-run-skier. have only done b/c a few times, but should have no problem with most conditions, or with skinning up about 4000 feet in a day (saturday), possibly 5000'+. Â have taken an avy/beacon class a few years ago, but haven't used beacons in a while; want to do some backyard practice either some night this week, or friday nite when we get to dave's place. Â sound good? want to meet up at pub club this week to discuss? Â only on this site sporadically lately, especially for the next coupla days-- visiting family in florida ... so, p.m. or email me (ethan98105@yahoo.com)
iain Posted April 23, 2004 Posted April 23, 2004 Tim if I can get that weekend freed up I can haul your carcass from PDX.

snoboy Posted April 24, 2004 Posted April 24, 2004 Dave, it sounds like we can drive right to the place? Is this right? Â And does that mean we are camping on the ground, or on snow???
AlpineK Posted April 24, 2004 Author Posted April 24, 2004 You'll drive right to the camping area, which is in pine trees. There's a 99.99% chance you will be camping on dirt and pine needles.   ******************  BEER ALERT!!!!!  There will be beer provided as part of the function. More details later  ******************  note: A smart camper always brings their own beer in case of an emergency. Â
AlpineK Posted April 26, 2004 Author Posted April 26, 2004 ***************  Beer Alert  We've lined up one keg of Terminal Gravity beer and we're thinking about a second keg of Deschutes.  ***************

AlpineK Posted April 27, 2004 Author Posted April 27, 2004 It's about time someone responded to this. Â I mean you'd think I said something bad when I told you guys about the free beer.
EWolfe Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Hey, doesn't Free Beer still work at Feathered Friend?
eternalX Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Am i missing something? There's nothing in that post except ML-events... and i can't reply to it. Do i have to have super duper access priv?
chucK Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 Are you talking about this thread that has the directions? Â or something else
mattp Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 For anybody who doesn't want to ski, there is plenty of rock climbing over there, too. Â
whirlwind Posted April 27, 2004 Posted April 27, 2004 gona climb at washington pass if its not too wet
mattp Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 WA Pass is great but don't be discouraged if its storming up there or something. The Methow Valley is pretty good for a weekend of grins. I think this shot is more or less in the same location as the one above: pitch 5 of the Methow Inspiration Route (there are harder and easier climbs, some longer some only 80 feet long, nearby). Â Â
EWolfe Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 For anybody who doesn't want to ski, there is plenty of rock climbing over there, too. Â I was going to bring my snowboard until I heard about the snowboard burning. Â Now I think I'll just climb
Pandora Posted April 28, 2004 Posted April 28, 2004 Yes! Does that mean you're not going to be there??
