  1. Yea's Wok is really good. I'll have to try the other two.
  2. The Wishbone Arete is pretty darn cool. You look at it right from the highway as a very prominent ridgeline staring back at you. There are harder routes for sure, but it provides a good mix of ice and rock. Rock down low Getting through the gargoyles I'll have to read more about recent attempts on the Abruzzi.

    The Debate

I don't know if this is better for you, but you can listen to it on a radio link. That gets rid of the video part, but you still might have to replay parts. NPR coverage

  6. In the old days it used to be the lefty liberal and righty tighty. That was the old days though. Given the current administrations love of war and spending money I don't think the tighty part of the current righty designation fits very well. I remember a time when Republicans made good accountants for keeping the budget in check, but I guess times change. Anyway back to the real subject [img:center]http://rachelpapo.com/images/serial/serial13.jpg[/img]

    WAMU

  8. And all the limestone is waiting to fall on anyone foolish enough to get close. Albertan or not. Nice route btw
  9. Didn't god send Satan to hell and give him his own empire till the end of time? If god isn't ready to end time how does John McCain intend to jump in ahead of god?
  10. All I can say is I hope somebody posts a youtube video of Dawg and Pope climbing the new route. That would be priceless.
  11. Climbing is so old news. Soon all the big peaks will be ski runs.
  12. The Seahawks aren't off to a good start.

    WAMU

I really need to run to deposit this check I have from a WAMU account. Get your money while you can. :[]
  14. We'll see. There's lots of time for either side to do things they later regret. In WA the Rossi/Gregoire comp seems like the real close one.
  15. In a lot of states outcomes are a pretty sure bet. There will be a number of McCain promoters here in WA who will back him, but it's highly unlikely they will contribute much to the overall total. The real up in the air part of the election is centered in Ohio and Florida. We'll see. The economy has some big problems; right or wrong it plays against those in charge.

    will not be the last.
  17. That is a fantastic area. After traversing the area in winter it's nice to see summertime pictures of the region. The approach sucks, but it's a cool place to get to.
  18. Photo of me at Slesse bivi in '88 You can see the snow on the crossover slope. I think it was in July.
  19. since 1964? I think I did the buttress in '90 or around then. I finally looked at some notes and I did the route in '88
  20. This photo is interesting I remember doing the route and descending via crossover peak. The snow was plentiful, hard, and a bit icy coming back to the base of the route. We were in approach shoes. Fortunately we did bring ice axes. It was still hairball getting back to our stuff. Nice TR
  21. Some of us in the states are Northwesterners first and Americans second. You can't have the pickets though. We need some cool peaks that don't require a passport to access. That being said I've spent a ton of time in BC and Alberta.
  22. Overall supply as far as I know is on its way down no matter how much new stuff we drill. That certainly is a good reason to reduce consumption to hold on to what we have.
  23. It was really nice in the old days being able to drive to trails there. A bike is somewhere in between driving and walking the whole distance. I walked the middle fork trail two weeks ago and saw a car that got permission to drive near the end of the old road. I'm not sure how they got permission to do that. Next time I'll bring a bike since I don't have the connections for driving.

    MTV: The Hills

I used to watch TV fairly often. The only reason I did this is the rental place I lived in had previously jacked into the cable lines. Eventually the cable company figured out that there was cable in my house and cut the lines and left me a friendly note telling me they'd hook me up for a monthly fee. I decided then that TV just wasn't worth paying for. I couldn't even be bothered to buy rabbit ears. Now I have a TV, but it's only there for renting movies.
