You might talk to Mike Beiser at the University of Idaho Outdoor Program (he's the boss). He'll tell you about a bunch of good skiing in between Moscow ID and where Snoboy lives. UI Outdoor Program You ain't a student, but he's still a good guy to talk to. He might even know other non students looking for partners. From my memory I highly recommend Freezout Ridge (Near Moscow, road access may be a problem) and the Wallowas out of Enterprize OR. Both of these locations are under 4 hours. I have skied a bunch up in Snoboy land. Salmo pass has some good roadside runs. Tell Mike Kurt Fickeisen recommended him.

I just walked back from the voting poll

All of us ungrateful curs have the opportunity to express ourselves and vote for change in leaders and policy in our country. Therefore we talk about it a lot. I agree that things are truly fucked up in Tibet, Western China, North Korea, a bunch of African countries....... We may talk about it a bit, but we lack control of any legitimate kind. All we can do is vote for changes in our leadership that will try to benefit others in far off places.

Free to Damnation leaders who place pro on lead.

If I stick an icepick in you would you like it? (yes it's something you'd probably get over) Basically nailing a sign to a tree serves no purpose other than to say you're too lazy to stick a sign pole nearby. Sometimes steel cables are place in trees due to weak growth structure, but you don't do that without safety (human) concerns. Now if you plan to kill the tree then spike away.
-
Now did the tree become mature and refuse to add height, or did the sign poster refuse to ascend and decide to inform everybody. People worried about tree climbers damaging the tree shouldn't damage the tree by nailing signs to it. Funny photo

Damnation does not need a piton! There's plenty of places for protection on the route. There are places up on the route where small pro does just fine.

Good shop to mount Dynafits: Seattle or Eastside
AlpineK replied to intheways's topic in the *freshiezone*
I just got skis with mounted dynafits back from World Cup. The work they did looks really good, but I haven't skied on them yet. World Cup -

Hey nothing can surpass Georgetown. Georgetown All the original beer in Seattle comes from Georgetown. Sadly Rainier Beer got sucked away by corporate bs. There still is some local spirit though [img:center]http://www.georgetownbeer.com/images/logoMain1.gif[/img] The old Georgetown city hall (back in the days before being sucked into Seattle) [img:center]http://www.georgetownneighborhood.com/photos/photo16.jpg[/img] Georgetown Pharmacy [img:center]http://www.georgetownneighborhood.com/photos/photo21.jpg[/img] Back in the old days my relatives moved to Georgetown when it was a free community not part of Seattle. What little I know is about skiing near Lookout Pass. I've skied south of the area on the east side of the pass to a peak in the St. Regis area (to Stevens Peak I think). I've heard you can drop west to Mullan. You need a pickup vehicle parked on I-90 in this case. My memory is from the '80s though, so others may have better suggestions.

I've seen a couple of presentations by folks who study bears hibernating habits. A large tree with decay in the center is a popular spot to hang out in during the winter. Western hemlocks by their nature often provide spots like that. One of the best photos was looking down a large tree cavity. In the winter this guy climbed up the tree to the cavity top, crawled down a bit and took a picture of a groggy looking bear at the bottom.

It's good to know Exxon has 80 billion dollars on hand. Ya know just in case they need a few 100 executive mansions or they have to bribe some politicians. I bet they could set up a bunch of test drills in Tacoma, or off the Olympic Peninsula. Maybe a TV add champaign telling viewers how eco loving they are.

The horse walked away, so they didn't cut the horse (too much).

Fairyweather just doesn't want to admit he needs a vacation. Austria would be nice. There are lots of friendly attractive conservative political types in Austria. [img:center]http://www.independent.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00062/haider_62913t.jpg[/img] I bet he'd make some good friends who share his world view.

From the article they did it bit by bit with a chain saw. I don't know about sedating the horse. Careful work with the saw no doubt. Kill a tree, save a horse. Hard to call that environmentally friendly. Better to eat a beaver and save a tree. Actually It would be advanced torture on the tree in favor of the horse. The tree is still alive just more fucked up. The large cavity indicates that the tree was approaching collapse without the horse problem.

True, but afterwards she was a lot happier.

If you own a horse be very very careful where you let it wander without supervision. [img:center]http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/01012/horse460a_1012172c.jpg[/img] Story

Judging by the season records of the M's, UW, WSU, and the Seahawks it's good to be a fan of leagues outside of WA this season. The UI Vandals suck too; there must be a contagious disease spreading from Pullman. At least they beat Idaho State.

[video:youtube]8y06NSBBRtY Old speach by a republican president and former general. I also admire his choice of last names with the E before the I.

Here's the quick version [img:center]http://www.warresisters.org/pages/images/pieFY09.gif[/img] source A different view [img:center]http://www.yorkgrassroots.org/0images/2008pie_budget.gif[/img] source two different sources for military defense spending (off by 5%) make up the US budget. In rough terms that's 60% of tax revenue. I'd say that's a much larger chunk of the pie than welfare expense. I know these may not be conservative approved sources, but they are similar. I need to find a version approved by Fox Media to make some people happy
