I know those waterfalls well. Reading the story is painful for me. I really feel bad for all involved.

I heard this on the radio when I first woke up. I instantly knew what happened. A long time ago some events occurred that make this news a poor start to the year. I really feel sorry for the friends and relatives of the woman. I know those waterfalls well.

Not just tacos, tacos with slices of american cheese. If only the whole thing came with jumbo instead of the small fries. And a double burger too. A super size soda is an extra expense required to wash it all down.

I use it some. It's a good way to stay in touch with friends who would not take part in CC(lack of interest). I've even managed to run into people I haven't seen in years. Climbing in the NW is not the central theme of the site.

The town of Newcastle (north of Renton)was named for the city in England. It got that due to the buried coal. Currently there are remnants of those mines in the woods there. They're pretty darn sketchy. We should seriously think about a big new open pit mine on the flanks of Cougar Mountain.

There have been a number of bands who have one focus, a fast guitar player. I agree the dude can play fast, but music is a lot more than a performance like that. I'd have to hear a complete song before I'd say Right now I'm leaning towards

Duct tape. I know this sounds funny, but it works. I believe their are similar tape products where you can come close to matching the garment color.

Cool. That thing is going to be a spectacular avalanche on Friday (or soon).

Ick. Bummer dude. Sitting on the couch is a crappy way to spend your free time. I hope you get a rock climbing dvd for xmas.

Yeah, but not in the trees by the creek above school. I imagine the slopes up through Whispering Heights are less frequently plowed. At least they weren't plowed yesterday in the AM.

Ski the slope above Eastgate Elementary.

Be on the lookout for trapped moose. They might fall into Green Lake. Look what happened in Spokane [video:youtube]YNG7_aAhyY4&feature=related

Unfortunately I went to the same high school Ann and Nancy went to. Years after they were there of course. There are a bunch of much better chick bands out there.

Brian Eno is in the top 10 of my favorite musicians. He deserves a lot more respect from us yankies. The Talking Heads benefitted a lot from him. New [video:youtube]6DQyusKTAh4 Classics [video:youtube]w2WURHY3D4A Good climbing music [video:youtube]jKdiU_gzUrA&feature=related

I just played my LP after years of it sitting in the stack. I'd forgotten how much I liked them.

Exactly. Ask a Scottish ice climber what to do.

As pointed out, trees on your property add value to your property. I'm not talking about timber value of the tree. I appraise trees occasionally for their landscape value following guidelines set up by Council of Tree & Landscape Appraisers. Using current values a 20" diameter at breast height (4.5' above grade)red oak can add up to $21,000 your property. Their are individual site factors that reduce this figure, but still it can add quite a bit of value. In addition you may want to read this document Why Shade Streets (pdf) Tax money spent on paving is saved by trees. Like all objects (your car) there are expenses for maintenance, and a certain amount of risk you accept by owning them. As far as bike lanes, doing stuff to reduce traffic on the streets benefit everybody. So it seems like a legitimate use of money.

2' of pow in the Baker ski area backcountry yesterday.
