Actually I'm honestly curious what kind of climbing Don did back in the day. I already know about some of his other acomplishments.
Keep up brown nosing your friend; I'm sure you'll eventually get that reach around you've been longing for.
I'm sorry Pope, but that's some second rate stuff from your pal Dwayner. It makes it even worse that you would try and draw some parallel between Dwayner and Johnny.
One question that does intrigue me about Dwayner is what did he ever climb that was that great. I mean I'm sure he must have climbed something to be hired as a guide for a while. All he's shown us at CC is that he's a burned out old fart who hasn't really done much of anything for 20 years.
He did have a few good posts back at the begining of cc; back before he became addicted to internet pictures.
If I were in the market for snow sport gear I'd wait to buy until late february when the good sales are...and this year there should be some good sales.
Snowshoeing is for suckers;skiing is where it's at, but if you have no desire and no skill to ski you may be a sucker.
I don't think the cirque is that bad. There will be people there, but I don't recall any trash. Maybe a euro or two shitting where they shouldn't...bring a water filter.
I can't help you with arrigetch.
A friend of mine knew people who worked at this job. I guess there's some potential for some sick routes. It's kind of like being paid to climb a much bigger version of the UW rock with tourists staring at you. The biggest downside is you have to wear lederhozen.
If I was choosing an event to go to and I had the choice of watching a slide show of a woman doing some bad ass climb or watching another woman analyze the same woman through a filter of feminism I would choose the former; I can't even imagine going to see the latter.
I work in a male dominated field. Of the 20 or so companies I know of around Seattle I don't know of one that would turn away anyone who applied for a job and showed that they had the work ethic and aptitude to do the job. Yet I could count the women that worked in my field and lasted more than a year on one hand.
I don't think that women face any challenges that men don't in my field; I just think it illustrates the diference between men and women.
I think I would stay away from that lecture because I would have to hear terms like, "empowerment," or, "nurturing environment," over and over until I had to puke.
I believe most of the gas tax goes to pay for roads.
I think folks would be willing to pay more for gas, and it wouldn't have a drastic effect if you added a tax for research or carbon sequestration.
In the end we need to come up with some new tecnology. Guess what that tecnology is going to be built by a business and in the end it will be a positive contribution to our economy. Of course we could do nothing and let China come up with the tecnology and then buy it from them and increase our trade deficit with them.
