When I vote in one of Mike's polls on women I stop and think...how can I help Mike make the biggest ass of himself in this situation. I never want to see Mike run out of angst.

Those guys are psycho.

Gaffs are for killing not for climbing a tree to prune it. Trust me you can get into 98% of the trees out there without them. You can fuck up whatever you want on your property, but if you're going to post a tr about a climb in bad style then you may as well be aiding a free climb at a crag packed with people.

Look lets say I'm bored. I decide that I'm going to have a fun time by going over to my neighbor's house and kick his dog for a while. As long as I don't get to agro the dog will be just fine...so there shouldn't be a problem. If you went out to Smith and started drilling and aiding a new bolt ladder right near 5 gallon buckets do you think someone would complain? There are ethics with all forms of climbing, and your ascent shows a total disregard for the ethics of tree climbing. On top of that I'm trying to tell you that there's a way to climb trees where you don't have to leave anything behind. So I'm also trying to help you save money too. I've climbed trees for about 15 years as a full time job, and I've never found one where I had to leave anything behind to get back to the ground. Your comments about what arborists do to trees are laughable, so I wont even bother to respond to them. You might try checking aout a book by Alex Shigo if you want to actually start learning about tree structure and the effects of pruning cuts. If you really want to climb trees, as I noted above, talk to my friend Vern he lives about 10 miles from Corvallis. I've been up 300' plus firs with him about 40 minutes drive from Corvallis.

CJZ told me I should look at this post. I'm fairly disgusted by what you did. I understand that you've probably never been instructed in proper tree climbing, so I'll try and help you a little should you choose to climb another tree. In the first place you are climbing a living thing for recreation. It is totally unacceptable to damage a tree for recreation. Even for work the only time we puncture the bark of a tree is when we are cutting it down. Secondly all you had to do is throw your rope over a stout enough branch crotch, rap out, then pull your rope. Doing it that way you would leave no gear. If you ever feel inclined to climb another big tree contact my friend Vern at Beuna Vista Arbor Care. Tell him Kurt says you guys need help. Do not ever do that again.

You should pay Jon what you feel is fair for what you drink.

Most things climbers do are arbitrary. You decide what the game is you make up the rules then you do it. I believe erden did cary his gear, but I don't think he caried all his food. I'm not really down with the self salesmanship, but if you want to do something big chances are you need sponsors and so you sell your self/idea.

I don't remember the details or the reasoning behind tolls on the new narrows bridge. I'm not totally opposed to tolls in the new tunnel, but keeping traffic moving smoothly around the port is going to benefit a lot of eastern washington farmers shipping grain and other exporters.

They're building that and everyone in Seattle's paying. I'm mostly psyched about bitchy nonresidents paying to improve Seattle streets.

I've got some skiing pics I'm going to show just because Rudy is such a baby

Well maybe it wouldn't work, but it would be cool to try.

Until Fairweather has to pay the taxes on replacing the Alaska Way Viaduct with a tunnel. Personally I would just retrofit the shit out of the old viaduct, but I'm willing to pay my share for the tunnel if it makes a few people in spray.

She chose to join the sorority. I think that was a bad choice but not nearly as bad as skiping out on military service especially when family conections got you soft service while other kids without political conections are getting drafted and killed in a war.
-
Paul, joining a sorority and skipping out of military duty are two different things. Yes they do share a common root however the scale is totally different. There are criminal penalties for skipping out on military service whereas I can't think of much serious related to the greek system. That being said I don't think CG is that great. I voted for her because I thought she was slightly better than Dino. I do have misgivings about her charactor. I'm not that bothered about her joining a sorority a long time ago, but I am more concerned about how she answered questions regarding the sorority in the governors race. I'd be more accepting of an answer along the lines of being young, trying to fit in, and get ahead as opposed to her bs about how she was trying to change things from within. The vote was so close that a recount, even a third recount, is justified but eventually either CG or Dino is going to have to concede the race. I wont loose much sleep if CG is the one that concedes. One thing I am glad of is that the democrats are paying to recount the whole state. I'm sure there would be even more fighting if they didn't.

What is your factual basis for believing they are the "weakest binding"? No doubt. Just how is it you figure dynafit is the weakest binding.

Every once in a while you pull your head out of your ass and say something intellegent Fairweather. I think that evolution is what you want to teach in a science class in school...because it's a science class. This doesn't mean that you can't also believe that god created the universe/earth/us. Unfortunatly there are so many vocal freaky christians out there who want to push their literal interpretation of as science. In the long run it will hurt us as a country. Science literacy is poor enough right now, and our economy and jobs depend more and more on having an educated population. You can't have an educated population if people don't know the difference between science and religious belief. Now as for this car thing. I just bought a chevy with a duramax diesel engine. The engine is the same as the diesel engine in my Isuzu FRR. Nowadays the auto industry is more and more a trans national business. It's kind of silly to argue the jap vs american car thing anymore.

You guys realize that Scott has made 28 posts so far in this thread. So far that's well over a quarter of the posts...nearly a third

I thought the defence made some good plays, but I don't think the offence got a first down till the 2nd or 3rd quarter. I haven't been paying much attention to football this year, so I've missed some of their good games, but I don't hold out much hope for a team that didn't even show up. That theatrical bullshit at the beginning of the game with players running out of dry ice fog and all the fireworks was pretty funny. The offence should have used those fireworks against the Bills...it might have helped.

Laugh it up. The fact is that any recount system that's in place would be something that both democrats and republicans agreed to. The party in control might think about imposing rules that scewed the results to their favor however most politicians are smart enough to know that they wont be in power forever and payback is a bitch. For those extra paranoid conspiracy theory folks like Fairweather you have the added benifit of having lots of lawyers from the republican party who were geared up for a presidential recount and now they have nothing better to do then go watch the recount in Washington state. But then again maybe the Trilateral Commision, the queen of England, and the Rothchilds are pulling the strings in the governers race.

My god those seaturkeys suck. I thought they were suppose to do ok this year. The game yesterday has to be the worst football game I've ever gone to see. The new stadium is nice, and the Seagals are still hot! The only other good thing I can think of is the seats we had were great, and I didn't have to pay for em. I've never been to a game where everyone was booing the home team so much. PS Dave Shultz, I know you're going to want to make some stupid comment...we already know you hate football so put a sock in it.
