Riva uno or Riva dos?

Date code on mine are 2317, which does not fall within that recall. I have all the originial hardware that came with them as well.

Used but in great shape. I like my sabretooths better. I'd like to get $100 OBO. Also have a pair of NF polarguard pants. black with full side-zips. No cuts or tears. Size large. I'm 6'3" with a 36" waist and they fit fine.

Russ did me well with a haul bag I needed for my first Alaska trip and when I emailed him about a wear spot in the bag he replaced the panel in question gratis. Its been going strong on several trips over the years. This is Fish Gear we're talking about here--not Walmart. Russ makes great products (I still regularly use my 40oz beer cozy with faux-alligator hide and handles for when I get pumped) and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again. He participates in the community, provides excellent beta, and supports various events. He's a small business.

Smart man. You won't be sorry.

I have the etrex vista black and white (pre-color) and its ok. For backcountry usage it shines and I've never had a problem but for on-board navigation (car, motorcycle, etc) its just too small. Drop the coin and get the better GPS unless you are super anal about weight. In that case, you can buy mine--preloaded with city navigator. ;-) Another thing, save some coin and buy refurbished from a reputable dealer like edgegps.com. A bunch of my enduro-riding friends have bought refurbished GPS from them for cheap (streetpilot 2720 is only 375!) and had great results. Comes with a year warranty just like the new units.

Did Muffy just say "ostentatious"? Did DeChristo get ahold of Muffy's password?

As I understand it, they don't have to impose any enforcement requirements on it right now. The agency responsible for it, i.e. Forest Service, can implement enforcement penalties when it gets to them. That is, if its passed into law, the Forest Service can decide what penalties to impose. Remember, there is currently a law in place requiring climbers to carry EITHER a cell phone or an MLU otherwise they are responsible for up to $500 of any rescue costs. Can anyone name a case where someone was penalized under the current law? That being said, I'm with John. I am against this bill, I have written the legislature complaining about it, and I'd love to see someone thank Matty and crew tonight for his seemingly endless self-promotion at adding fuel to the fire.

another vote for west face of monkey face. Leaving the monkey's mouth on the third pitch will leave you feeling very airy.

Pub Club at Knottygirls house. Problem Solved
-
I had a similar situation involving a roommate who was using the basement as a shooting gallery for him and his junkie friends (many years ago). We asked him to leave. No go. We asked the landlord to intervene and her response was "its your problem, if you can't get it resolved I'll evict you all." I don't believe the landlord has any responsibility (or legal right) to evict just one person. You have a lease? What does it say? What is the duration? Breaking a lease before the end of the lease period can be expensive and you could forfeit all your deposits. Or do you mean "rental agreement"? If its a rental agreement its probably month-to-month. Have the landlord re-write a new agreement, leaving the problem child off. Then give her an ultimatum (in writing): move out or we move you out. If she doesn't get out, next time she leaves the house pack up all her shit and put it on the curb. Then get a keg and change the locks--wait for the fireworks to begin. Let me know if you choose this option so I can come over and watch. In my case, we all just moved out and went our separate ways. The junkie died of an overdose less than a year later. Sad.

That was me ya dick. All you had to do was ask me to flip the tape. I had tOAD THE wet sprocKet on teh udder side that was my introduction to the north-west, baby, and you were an integral part of it! smile - you made my life a more amusing thing for it all. That was actually Fejas's tape and boombox sitting on top of my truck. When I walked over to try and change the damn tape I noticed two guys in my front seat, one toking up while the other rifled through my glove box. I ended up with that boombox for nearly a year until we managed to get it back to Fejas.

And their salaries (the execcutives) are reflective of all their hard work. They are clearly a selfless bunch.

Media glorification of mountaineering accidents
rbw1966 replied to hippos_are_evil's topic in Climber's Board
Anyone read the article in todays Oregonian? The dog owner did an interview at the Lucky Lab with a reporter talking about how the group was on the Today show and are contemplating appearing on Ellen Degeneres. Talk about media glorification. Unless the media reports are incorrect, the most serious injury of any of the fallen climbers was an injured wrist and some cuts. Why these folks were unable to walk out White River Canyon is mistifying to me. These folks are doing a disservice to the climbing community by sensationalizing their rescue in the media. Its pouring gas on the debate over MLU requirements. -

Next door neighbor had a pit. I had two dogs at the time (an aged golden who has since passed, and a red heeler). Our dogs would just go nuts at each other through the fence growling, barking and snarling. One day shortly after this all started, I look out my window to see the Pit mantling over the top of the 5ft tall chain link fence. I thought "oh no!" and ran outside with a handgun. The pit dropped to the ground on my side of the fence and all the pooches started playing together. Seems the fence separating them was getting them aggro. The pit would climb the fence all the time to hang out with my dogs. Never any problems.
