  1. Hmmm 8 years old. . . cost about $25 each new. . . Sounds like you don't place a very high monetary value on your life. Why not test them and post the results?
  2. Your reading comprehension needs some work. Joseph was NOT the original poster, he was cross-posting for someone else. If you read the entire thread you'll note that the original poster chimed in--and she is in Boston. Not that gyms aren't nasty of course.
  3. You can cross over just about the same elevation as the Silcox hut. There really is no short or convenient.

    I'm hot

    This thread sucks without pics.
  5. I like the way you think! I've already got three days in so far this winter and I think its making me snow-crazy. That and the thought of spending the entire month of January in Oklahoma for work. Kill me now.
  6. Considering that there are less than 60 left in the year it sounds like none of you will achieve your goals.

The pooch's eyes are priceless. My cousin had a dog that looked like it that would smile on command. Creepy as hell.

  9. Eddie really inspired you, eh?

We had a cambodian kid in high school who played soccer on our team. His last name was Pousseh (I know I got the spelling wrong) but the pronunciation rhymed with a female body part (no, not delores). Imagine hearing that being yelled around a field during a game.
  11. How, pray tell, did she end up with Mr. Mensa? Are you from India and this was an arranged marriage? Did she bust out the crayola 64-box to draw a diagram?
  12. Its not? Are you implying that because you don't know something that its not common knowledge? Let me help you out here. Criminal suits require that you be found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Civil suits have a lower standard of proof, that is you just have to prove something based on a preponderance of the evidence. Just tip the scales in your favor. Hence OJ was found not guilty of murder yet still be held civilly responsible for the deaths. Read a book sometime.
  13. We didnt see any tents in white river canyon while we were skiing it.
  14. Listen to teleross. I have the champ pants and those, along with a driclime windshirt, are my fav pieces of outdoor attire.

  16. I tried it in the store--it was way too difficult to get the air out of it to make it a reasonable compression sack. I was looking for a replacement for my Lowe Summit Attack pack and this wasn't fitting that role. The Marmot one works well but its not very durable.
  17. its called 'desegregation'
  18. You don't "need" JROTC to have an all-volunteer army. Dismantling the JROTC program will not hamstring recruiting abilities. As a matter of fact, I recall seeing in the paper that the military had actually exceeded its 2006 recruiting goals. I do agree that dismantling this program is BS.
  19. The news reports indicate it was glacial blow-out that caused the white river slide. Recent snowfall has camouflaged any damage up high.
  20. Look at the title of the forum you are posting in nimrod. "Giving"? Nice work Timay--shred and I were hitting the Tline goodness on Sunday. Looks like your weather was better. Keep the reports coming.
  21. By ski area are you asking about meadows or cooper spur? As I understand it, you can't get to meadows but you can get to the spur if you take some backroads.
  22. The TJ hut is maybe 500 yards from the parking area. I doubt this distance will be significant enough to mean two days versus one. YMMV
  23. When the cloud cap road is closed you can access the north face via the tilly jane trail. Its about 3 miles to the hut and then another mile or so to timberline from there. The hut can be used as a bivvy shelter but its not very pleasant and might be pretty crowded with 3 people. A tent would be way more comfy. The hut is also not a terribly convenient spot for access to the NF routes as you would have to drop down onto the Eliot glacier and access can be problematic. Most people use the hut for Cooper Spur access. Good luck.
  24. If you can pro-deal it why don't you just get a couple different jackets, keep the one that works and sell the others?
  25. Make mine a double.
