  1. Like? Land mines? Any fencing will be no issue for this person. The had an alarm system with cameras, which didn't seem to help. This person is quite skilled at creating mayhem, and I don't doubt that they will strike again, maybe in a way that they aren't expecting (depending on the counter measures). Like a , they have my reluctant respect.
  2. So awesome. I love the love of D-town. It is just about prime slab dancing season out there!
  3. Oh man, that's too bad. It was such a lovely area.
  4. Chances are slim to none. Despite many years of trying to find evidence (hair snares, photo traps, etc.), there have been ZERO documented grizzlies in the park. I work with a bunch of wildlife bios and have followed this closely over the years. Black bears are commonly cinnamon, which is why color isn't what you go on. The shape of the head is key, as are long claws, hump on back, etc. Here's a good summary: But, more importantly, that is a HELL OF A LOT OF CLIMBING IN A FEW DAYS! Yowza! Well done!
  5. Thanks for the details! Busy is the new normal on Luna, it seems.
  6. Watched the helo Saturday night and was wondering what was going on since it seemed to take a couple hours to do the extraction. Glad that it sounded non-life threatening. Nice work on the summit, Luna is a haul!
  7. Wow. In the words of GWB - "Catastrophic Success!"
  8. Never heard of anyone doing it that late, but here are some thoughts.... It will vary a lot year to year, based on how much fresh snow is in the hills. Typically with the short days, broken glaciers, and extensive talus, people shift to more trailed destinations during that week. But, no bugs in Bachelor creek and no crowds! Chances are the weather won't be bomber though....
  9. You know, I never have climbed there. Sounds like I need to change that!
  10. Wow, you're serious @bellows! Finishing this year then?
  11. Wow, that would have been an inconceivable # of ascents in one year, not even 5 years ago. Glad you escaped the Potterfield curse and had a good climb!
  12. So great! I need to go back to this one....
  13. What a heartbreak! All that way to be engulfed in the mists on summit day. It is worth a return when the pain subsides....
  14. Wow, those accounts by Mr. Davis were great!
  15. A great and helpful report! Love that old mining wash basin....
  16. Grades don't apply to J'Berg!
  17. Who knew E-bikes could be a game-changer in the mountains? I didn't see that coming! Another excellent TR from that area @dberdinka, thanks for putting another on our lists!
  18. I really liked that route, but almost didn't survive to start it. When @therunningdog and I were gearing up after getting off the glacier, a few car sized chunks broke out of the icefall and obliterated our tracks leading up the glacier. We missed getting the chop by about 10 mins. And I didn't even register any icefall hazard on the approach!
  19. And we appreciate the TRs! I am woefully behind on putting stuff up from my meager adventures this summer. I guess that is what November is for.....
  20. You're on a tear this summer!
  21. No way! Follow the normal route up the NF Sauk to the south side of the mountain.
  22. Been meaning to do this loop....thanks for the reminder! Frostbite ridge is a fantastic climb and it has been 17 years since I last visited, so probably time to do it again!
  23. Oh man, that is awesome! I can't add anything to your calculations, other than to let you know I'm jealous. I've got 20+ years of the grind to go.
  24. You're talking to someone who thought it was a good idea to climb the Price Gl. @DPS is old school.
