  1. Maybe you should learn how the spell Rainier first before you get all worked up about climbing it.

    Winter Blast 2011

I already abandoned my lifted 4WD Hummer in the middle of I-90 as soon as I saw flakes.

    Winter Blast 2011

Is it time to hunker down yet?
  4. But only a little bit gayer than one who carries on about climbing.
  5. Maybe he means first person this week ...
  6. The Cunning Stunt.
  7. These are my girlfriend's boots. They are last year's model. Very gently used - she's gone for maybe 3-4 short skis in them; but they're just a bit too big. These are Rossi's ultra light, high performance world cup skate boot. NNN R3 compatible. She is asking $190.00. They retail for around $400. Here is a stock photo, but I'd be happy to share actual photos as well. Thanks.
  8. Tons of climbing in Montana just off I-90. Gallatin Canyon near Bozeman and the Bitterroot Range (Kootenai and Blodgett Canyons) near Missoula. Both are great college towns and worth going to for their own sake.
  9. My goal is to increase how much I can bench press. And get a nice tan.
  10. But have you ever tasted prosciutto wrapped crab cakes with garlic aeoli paired with a crisp pinot gris? Its ridiculously delicious.
  11. You sound like little anorexic girls trying to squeeze into their little sisters prom dress. Sack up and go cook yourself some bacon!
  12. Your story reminds me of the scene in the movie High Fidelity where a guy comes into the record store and Jack Black won't sell the customer a Lionel Ritchey record he wants because the guy has such poor taste in music.

    hey fatty

I think its funny when people point to stories like this as the reason they are vegetarians. As if Taco Bell is the only place to buy beef!
  14. I agree that if you have the knowledge you can do a lot with a little. I think a lot of us, including me, too often go into the backcountry without any sort of first aid equipment. Something like Jon H's lightweight kit can go a long way in a lot of situations.
  15. I doesn't matter one's level of medical training if they don't have the tools to do the job.
  16. A single twin and a single double? Kind of hardcore for ice cragging.
  17. Dickies are my preferred pant for any non-alpine rock. Being partially made of polyester they're somewhat stretchy and shed water a bit. They're lightweight too, durable, and more comfortable than carharts. And they cost like $30.
  18. But that's like 10 body lengths for you Rudy.
  19. I rarely climb at Little Si, but I'm pro dogs, pro bolts, and pro beer!
  20. Neat. Can't wait for the updates to your training journal!
  21. Dane I think Bob's statements were regarding other people's comments not the TR itself nor the efforts or attitude of the climber. The location of the belay is also irrelevant regarding the technical difficulty of the climb or the condition of the ice.
  22. I don't remember the belays being too bad. But, like I said, we brought the iron.
