The tree ledge is the best place for that I hear they are going to install a porta-jon and and espresso stand at tree ledge. It will all be funded by the millions of dollars that the espresso stand will bring in when the mile long line que of climbers show up. Originally, the stand and jon were going to be at snag ledge, but I convinced them that tree ledge is much better as that will also get the people snaking up Crusin to cut in front of the throngs on the first pitch of the Corner. Also, everyone already knows tree ledge is the best place for dropping a hot coiler. The wasps on Jill's got my partner too. I must have skipped that hold on lead but 112 was bitten twice on his way up. PS, it is waaaaayyy to hot at Beacon so everyone should just go to Ozone instead...

I was about to upgrade my Camalots to the C4s (mine are the last generation) till I saw the thread about the DMMs. Now I guess I will wait till February and then make the upgrade.

Yeah, I agree... I don't mind genuine engagement but I hate it when I go to Safeway, for example, and it is painfully obvious that every employee is required to say hello to me, even if it is done in the most un-genuine, fake manner. I have a red Astralplane that I purchased about 1994 and I believe it says it "Bozeman, MT" right on the tag. I was at REI and my buddy convinced me to spend the extra $150, or whatever it was, and I am so glad he talked me into it... "Dave, as much shit as you carry, you deserve the Astralplane". It has been a great pack and still going strong 15 years later. (Although most of those years it has been in the gear closet). Not sure when the switch was made, but look your pack over and see if any of the tags say Bozeman, MT on them. If not, it is likely made in Mexico.

Nice! Since you did not post any pics, here are a few from our trip up Prusik W Ridge a couple weeks ago. I left my camera on the roof of my car after our trip. I knew I should not have but I was so tired and was just closing the hatch back. Sure enough, I spaced it and did not realize it for another 15-20 minutes. I went back and found the case on the road but no camera in sight. Bummer, as I had just bought it before our trip. Lucky for me, a good sole - Andrew found it on the road and tracked me down through the ranger station. He said "the pics were so good, I could zoom in and read your backcountry permit... However, the permit was turned around so I could not read your names..." THANK YOU ANDREW!!! What a great area! Can't wait to go back and do the South Face.
