  1. Enjoy it in half a day maybe? From the BT trailhead, maybe 6 hours or so? I may be off with this, but that seems about right.
  2. Nice job guys, thanks for the pics... I'm thinking of heading that way for this weekend. Looks licheny!
  3. Ummm... These are sick picks, hell yeah!
  4. Just wanted to throw in a congrats to the two of ya... That looks completly awesome! I noticed a link on the climbing.com page that said to refer to this site for the complete TR... Then with site delays I had to wait! Now I see how cool what you guys did is! Once again, congrats!
  5. This one...
  6. Nice Chris! Jeez, talk about a different world!
  7. Power hour then fishbowl margaritas. Then maybe a jog or something! Sweat it out!
  8. That is pretty neat. I thought I noticed that bulge growing the other day when walking the dog. I said, "Hey Fido, does that 100 square mile bulge look like it's grown .0038 inches since yesterday?" He didn't answer (cause he's a dog and doesn't talk) but I bet he agreed.
  9. Nice work guys! I had also been thinking about trying to get a summit bivy together for that mountain. Kinda chossy, and was a little worried about soloing with a backpack. Thanks for showing that it's doable, but forgive me if I don't go till it get's warmer!
  10. Sniff Sniff... I miss NH PS. Nice pics!
  11. Wow... First off, thanks for posting this little adventure story here! Thanks for telling it like it is, so people can learn the most from the chaos! Second, how where you calm taking even a 15 foot, much less a 40? footer to a freehanging position? Hundred or so feet off the deck? I dunno man, I would have had a bit of the ole' brown stain, if you know what I mean! Crazy!!! Way to get through it as well! Funny how when you get in an "interesting" situation one of the first thoughts that runs through your mind is a SAR fiasco. I bet that flat ground at the bottom felt pretty good! Anyway, thanks again for sharing!
  12. Awww... Bummer. Express was on sale for 37, but now it's back to the reg 52... They musta seen this thread! Sorry guys, but I still got 5!
  13. Would be cooler if they worked as a replacement for those "potable water" tablets that I always neglect to use. Imagine if the were fizzy, tasted good, cleaned the little buggers out of your water, and gave you electrolytes? I would consider paying for them then! Wait, nobody steal my idea... It could be worth money!
  14. The times I have been there I have come from the highway cause I can't seem to find the trail from FS 2027 and usually just end up walking around on logging roads with a rope in my bag! Good training though for... ah... walking on forest roads?
  15. Sounds like a loose route? Do you have any pictures of it?
  16. Oh yeah, I got a set of 45 nice (used but in perfect condition) metolious climbing holds (no jibs or crap) including hardware for a wall in my house for 90 bucks. Now I can't find any that I can afford to finish it off! Ebay... Some dude must have bought them an then never used them.
  17. On a similar note this place is selling turbo express for 37 bucks each... Not quite as good as your deal, but I just bought some and was pretty pleased with the price and customer service.
  18. Nice work NCClimber! Sounds like a great place to introduce the youngertypes to the big volcanoes! to him for trooping through it all as well! Hope you got a bunch of good photos! Thanks for sharing the report!
  19. Good work guys! I like your slow and steady approach to a climb like this... Why would anybody want to rush to get off of that ridge!? Anyway, thanks for a good read
  20. This was my favorite part! I can't wait to give that part a try!
  21. Hey Jens, I don't remember checking on the difficulty of the that section when we rapped by it a few months ago. I do think I remember it being quite vertical, and possibly even slightly overhanging? in a few spots. If you are planning on downclimbing that, rather than bringing a rope. I would say just skip it and climb the gendarme. I dunno, even if it is 5.7, wouldn't it be harder to downclimb that then upclimb the gendarme? Is that your intention?
  22. that was "you're gonna die, we're all gonna die" followed by a cackle. hard to argue with.... That is the best thing I have heard in a while! Just what you need to hear when your already a bit on edge cause you've been exposed for a few hours!
  23. Hey, this thread is sweet! Nice TR Oleg et al! That shot of Pete on your favorite pitch and the one of Ingalls lake are super awesome (sorry winter, but you gotta admit it's a cool shot!). Is it me, or does that mountain rock? I can't wait to try some snow or icy routes in that area come snowtime. Thanks for sharing!
