Don't leave anything of value in your car, it's not that fucking complicated. If it doesn't pay of for those low life bastards to break into cars at the crag they will not do it.

We haven't had a boot thread this week so I thought it was about time. I am on my yearly winter equipment quest and I am now looking at boots. I been fine with a pair of lether Merrell High Cascade for the last couple of years but I am looking to upgrade to a pair of real winter boots. I will mostly use them in the winter cascades and maybe on Denali, I have pretty cold feet so toasty is good. This is what I been looking at Koflach Vertical 2450g 339$ *Not sure how long they will last. Reports about that outer shell are too soft. Scarpa Vega 2650g 350$ *My first choice at this point if they fit well Scarpa Inverno 2608g 299$ *Is there a major difference between this and Vega? Vasque ICE9000 2608g 395$ *My second choice if they fit well La Sportiva Nuptse 2693g 515$ *Looks nice but are they overkill for the cascades? really spendy Civetta GTX Extreme 2503g 350$ *Ugly Lowa Civetta XL 2608g 275$ *Ugly ASOLO AFS 8000 2400g 400$ *? Is there any of these boots I should absolutely not buy? Is there a boot that I have missed? What would you recommend?

I have seen that show on TV. Think it was called "dog moms and dads" or something like that. Some sort of reality show where they where following 5 people that was boarder line obsessive about there dogs. Some hysterical scenes from that show. The two gay guys from Seattle with there "show dog" Liberacie in a pink cape sitting on a custom made glass piano was great TV.

I hate the oregon gas pumping law. Wait for some dumb fuck to get his lazy ass over to my car, just to have him spill the whole side full of gas.

I am glad to hear that. I just bought a new Exped on E Bay, can't wait to try it out.

Ok I realize I have to correct my previous statment to "I hate fucking teachers" Well I guess thats not true either "I hate my fuckin 3 weeks a year vacation job" is probably closer to the truth. Enjoy your summer Ivan

I am involved in SAR with my dog. We do Urban Tracking & Trailing work so we mostly look for kids, Alzheimer and such. It is very common for kids to hide from SAR personnel. Many of them are afraid that they will get punished by there parents or put to jail by the police. Some of them are afraid of our dogs and in this case probably the horse. I think it is too much to ask an 11-year-old kid to act rational under this type of stress. I am glad he made it back and that he is well

Acording to board standards you can't call your self a climber unless your gear is atleast 50% of your net worth.

Make a copy of the correct permit, write them a letter telling them what happened and they will most likely dismiss the ticket

Steal the one serving plastic containers at restaurants with Ketchup. jelly and mayo. For some reason that stuff lasts forever and is perfect for adding some flavor. Maybee you can buy it somewhere but I never seen it in a store. I also want you to be aware of the risk I am taking by telling you this. Breaking the law

I have been dragging around with a pair of huge Atlas snowshoes for the last couple of years. Lately I been starting to think about a pair of MSR Denali snow shoes but all there models look pretty much the same to me except the new Lightning. I do mostly volcano slogging and I am a fat fuck with a heavy pack in the winter. At this point I am thinking about getting their base model Denali Classic. Is there any compelling reason why I should go with a more sophisticated model? Is that Televator gizmo good? MSR Denali

Some of the US armys MRE's have good stuff in them. I like there pinapple for desert. Don't bring the whole thing they produce way to much garbage and are heavy. Salty crackers with jelly is always easy and tasty.

"Hold my beer and watch this" If I don't have anyone to hold my beer I will not do anything stupid. I think his conclusions are wrong. My opinions are in line with chucK.

Are you talking about Scott Stephenson and Brian Bongiovannis book or Peggy Goldman's book? -
