What type of sled did you use? Why did the sled want to kill you? I am looking into getting one.Always wanted to hike around Mt Adams in the winter.
  12. How much time would the driving take? It feals like it takes forever whenever I go to any off those 3 peaks. Can the driving alone be done in less then 6 h?
  13. So I am looking for a new sleeping pad to use in the winter on the Cascade Volcanoes. My criteria would be that it is Warm, not to heavy and that it roles up well. Is there a huge difference between different manufactures or are they all more or less the same? The pad I have now is 72 inch long but I been looking at a 60 inch long but I am not sure what the practical difference between 60 inch long and 72 inch long are. Are the dual foam (closed/open) pads worth the extra cost? Any one got any recommendations? EDIT inch (")messing up the text
  14. I might be interested in the MTH. I live in Portland how much for shipping.
  15. Thanks guys. We will do Old Snowy instead, sounds like that will be a more enjoyable and safer scramble.
  16. Yes there is a trail going north coming off the table. It follows the top of the ridge heading north , mostly just on the west side of the center and then drops of to the east side off the ridge towards the end. It ends at a gravel road right where the ridge ends there are also some power lines crossing at that point. Take a left on the road and you will get back to the PCT trail.
  17. I like Table Mountain to. There is a trail coming off the top platau going north following a cool ridge that hits the PCT again that makes it a couple of hours longer. Good winter work out.
  18. I have never been up in the goat rocks so I thought that would be a fun Sunday trip. Been looking in Beckey but I can't find the info I am looking for. What route is the easiest way to the summit of Mt Curtis Gilbert considering I have no ropes and a dog. Is there another summit in the area that would be better considering my limitations (no rope and a dog)? What road should I take from Portland and how long of a drive is it? 4wd or 2wd? Any other things I should know about the area? Thanks
