Can't wait for this hot nasty summer to be over. I want snow, ice and strong winds so all the creaps and tourists stay home and stops bugging me.

  6. Hey is there still snow all the way up to Pikers Peak?
  7. What a great story from a a time when men where real men and not gore tex covered punks.
  8. One more vote for an outhouse. You will find a cleaner area if you make a right once you get up to the lunch counter and hike south for alittle bit down on suksdorf ridge. thats the winter route and it has some nice shelters and people are usally to tired to go that direction.
  9. I am such a hard ass climber dude that I only drink Mt Dew

  11. You will never be alone on Hood in August.
  12. I will probably not be online before you guys leave. Last weekend it was great conditions up there but the snow is melting out fast. Use the summer trail to gain the ridge, it is easy to find. There are still snow all the way up to pikers peak and I found water 3 times on my hike up there. If you are anything like me and don't like getting baked and don't like to hike in slushy snow an early start is good, but you already know that. I am the guy with the German Shepherd, enjoy your hike
  13. I would not recomend the NR unless there is plenty of snow to cover up the scree. Pretty much anything on Adams should be done on snow. If you are going solo you could do the south coulier instead. pretty straight forward slog but atleast it is on snow. I am going up the standard south side dog route Saturday if you want to catch a ride. Leaving at 3Am and plan on being back around 9 Pm or so
  14. I have meet some grumpy rangers when St Helens was open for climbing. Was more like passing airport security then checking for climbing permit. Mt Adams have some of the nicest Rangers around. They have always been nice and friendly.
  15. Yeah dog pictures. Ofcourse my dogs are both cuter and better then your dogs.
  16. Once in awhile I take our BC to a doggie day care. keeps her busy and she will not drive me nuts when I get home from work. Dogs are so much better then screaming kids
  17. 3-4 miles and just under 4500-5000' of gain.
  18. Does this quote remind you about someone else "Aidan's ability to concentrate on a task stems from a type of autism called Asperger's Syndrome." Either way concrats to everyone for a climb well done.
  19. Did anyone summit on Thursday or Friday? I was up there Friday but turned around at the bottom of crescent glacier because the wind was alittle bit more then I wanted to deal with. Was the wind better on the weekend?
  20. We are all narcissists and we like it that way.
  21. So what would the recomended way for a solo self rescue be? I saw a guy on TV that was using two ice screws, one attached to his harness and one to his boots. Working his way up, sitting or standing while moving the screws.
  22. Went camping at the beach and played in the ocean for three days..had a blast. I might stop doing this mountain crap altogether
  23. Yes I know looks don't matter. When I get some time I will go out for a "tour de boot" and see what fits. Just gathering info before hand so I know what to look for. Thanks for the tip I will look into the Lowa to.
  24. So I want to make some special winter gear and would like to know if it is possible to buy the stuff that is used in the MHW Cougach gear (Polarguard 3D) or something similar. Who sells it? And if you really need to know it is for my dog and no this is not what I am looking for dog stuff
  25. What I am saying is that if no one left anything of value the meth heads would have to find a new hunting ground. I usally leave my car unlocked so they don't have to smash anything. I am suprised with how many people that leave there wallets and CC in there car and then act suprised when someone steals it. Sure it sucks but a wallet is not that much to pack with you. That said I know it is just a matter of time before I will be posting being pissed becuse someone stole my sleeping bag or cooler with beer.
