If someone is proposing to fundamentally change a huge, complicated system, I want assurances that they will not make it worse. Usually such change by the social engineers and libtards only fucks things up worse. Where did employer-sponsored health insurance come from in the first place BTW? Questioning and challenging proposals is not defending alternate proposals or the status quo. It's called critical thinking. Try it some time, boner. Actually, try "thinking", sometime, period.

fuck you mattp

It's still news. pishov ty sam khuy.

Wow! Another MattP! I'm "claiming it works". You guys are laughable.

Yes. For example, he's recently had new spots of melanoma.

in which period he admits to having other extra marital affairs Like I said, his first marriage didn't work out. Pretty normal. He's on his second now. Has he been cheating on this wife for 28 years? If not, good luck with that old history.

Edwards was a recent, significant primary candidate and VP candidate. His shot at VP is gone. That's news. McCain's 28 year-old divorce is not.
-
Mccain wasn't around for 4.5 years of that. Never mind those details But he was for 5.5. Man you guys are dipshits.

and elimination of frivolous lawsuits and the need for overpriced malpractice insurance now this is a load of shit. how about forcing insurance companies to pay within 30 days of billing for the service. and introducing a cost control. now can you explain why an ER doc get 450 bucs extra for working a night shift (St Joseph's B-ham)? and who ends up paying for it down the road? now i understand why putting 3 stitches in my foot costs $375! some people don't pay up, and they charge others to make up the difference. if you think doctors and nurses are rich bastards living it up, you are in fantasy land

BTW, the accident occurred in 1969 and the divorce in 1980. Never mind those details though! As for the age comment, well, if this is his character flaw, he should have long ago left Cindy for a newer, younger model, right? Shit, they've been together 28 years now. Your argument is weak. the accident was in 1969 and she was undergoing medical treatment still in 1980. never mind these details- still divorced while she was in treatment. no- it's your argument that is weak. Assuming that is true, at least he stayed with her 10 years. Edwards didn't last more than a few months of chemo.

Seems pretty normal to me. For many people their first marriage doesn't work out. let me see:1979 affair, 1980 divorce. from wife who stood by him and was crippled in an accident. looks like slime to me... From Wikipedia (as well, it seems): In April 1979,[55] McCain met and began a relationship with Cindy Lou Hensley, a teacher from Phoenix, Arizona, the only child of the founder of Hensley & Co.[58] Also in 1979, he pushed to end his marriage with his wife Carol, who accepted his request for a divorce in February 1980; the divorce became effective in April 1980.[19][55] The settlement included two houses, and financial support for her ongoing medical treatments due to the injuries resulting from the 1969 car accident; they would remain on good terms. Not every marriage works out, dude. He coughed up support, the divorce was not bitter, and they are still on good terms.

Lots of marriages don't work out and lots of people have affairs... I think the wife having cancer part kind of puts this over the top though.

fits you well

Just to be clear: what is "socialized medicine?" Who has recently proposed it for the U.S.? Every participant in this discussion has a different idea of what "needs to be done". Look at my response to TREETOAD and Jim's response. I can guarantee that some of the participants have in mind just exactly the type of system that they have in Sweden.
-
This is a perfect example of thoughtless sloganeering. We're not talking about adopting "socialized healthcare" in the U.S. Maybe we should, but we are not. Not long ago, the French system was mentioned as a potential model but I don't remember anybody saying they want to adopt the system they have in Sweden. "thoughtless sloganeering" - piss off, dude.
-
and for once I agree with you.
-
Wow, GREAT POINT! You know who has really bad roads? Bolivia. That's just proof that WE SHOULDN'T HAVE ROADS! I have friends who work and live in Sweden, and have been for several years now. Their comments on the socialized health care system there is a mixed bag. If we are going to emulate (and talk up how great) other socialized health care systems, we need to realistically evaluate them - not paint a one-sided, idealized view of them.

Whoever gets elected, some things are gonna suck, some things will be good, but people will not focus on that, many things will definitely change, and yes, half the country (or at least 35% - enough!) will hate him.
-
yes, we need to trust in the God that is Big Gov't. It will surely save us!
