  1. did I miss somethign, is there a contest starting Monday?
  2. OK, I am one of the guilty ones who drives. Question, how do you deal with being sweaty when you arrive at work? Not all offices have a shower on site. Thoughts? Is it just a "towlette bath" with babywipes upon arrival? Educate me.
  3. If god had wanted bolts on that route, she would have put them there!
  4. MattP, you are consistently ruining these threads with facts and logic. This is an emotional issue not a factual one, and your failure to see that distinction invalidates all of your arguments. Bolts are wrong because they feel wrong. Bolts interfere with the feeling of superiority that I get being able to climb something that someone else cannot because their skills are not has high as mine. You need to quit thinking and start feeling. If we allow bolts outdoors then the peon gym climbers will be able to claim that they climb the same as I do, thus either raising them to my level, or god forbid lowering me down to their level. My superiority would be gone! Rather than encouraging more to use the rock, making me a mere normal person; we need to discourage the masses so that I can continue to be seen as an extremist stud. That is where the logic comes in MattP.
  5. So where are we at on this contest. I think I could smoke all of you on either the gain or loss competition (though I would much prefer to lose.) It would have to be high stakes though, something like winner gets to be part of a muffy/arch sandwich, withe sherri rubbing the feet. Who is in?
  6. I personally think they should quit drawing the line and just legalize prostitution so these girls could get larger tips. If you are smart there is nothing wrong with making money off your brain; if you are built large and strong there is nothing wrong with making money off your muscles; if someone is beautiful and wants to make money off it, more power to them. Freedom!
  7. I am a two biner guy myself Ivan. It is fun sometimes to watch those skinny people suffer when they get cold and hungry.
  8. That is a heck of an idea. Isn't that what Match.com is?
  9. Thanks Knotty, I never would have thought of seaweed. do stores really sell this stuff? I will find some and try it, with an open mind! Seaweed, who would have thought.
  10. Tyler, I will let someone else address the science of it all, I can merely tell you that my feet have never felt better. I have had a lot of foot pain in the past; as a lawyer wearing those crazy wing-tips all day; as a high school teacher standing around all day on cement floors; but I currently feel no pain. I was always known for trying to get a foot rub out of anyone who might relent, but no longer have the need (still the desire, just not the need.) I don't know if these "barefoot" style shoes have made the whole difference, but I do love them. Eric

  12. Having a brother who went through Chiro school years ago, I fully understand what it takes to get through to the program. You have my admiration Layton.
  13. Helpful info sherri-doll. I have alwasy just cooked in the soaking water, but will alter the process. I think I just need to man-up and get used to proudly farting in public.
  14. I don't know if the Black Beans are part of the Zone, but I would love to hear what others do to make eating beans day-after-day a less objectionable experience. Any great advice?
  15. I find it odd that we are all willing to take a whipper fall on a bolt, but want two bolts for a Rappel? If there are two there I will use them, but I personally have no issue rapping off of a single bolt.
  16. VW, never let anyone deter you from your dream. Just be ready for the time that you may have to come up with a new dream because the previous dream just did not work out. Dream big, be ready to adjust.
  17. They say that if you just grab the thing and gently pulling thus putting gentle traction on it, it will eventually come out without leaving the head inside. I personally have never had a tick bite, as I spray my pant legs with deet and never deal with the issue.
  18. OK, I tried climbing in the "shoes" today. As can be expected, they suck in a crack. they were better than my sandles on slab, but still far from a good rock shoe on slab. I do love the shoes though. comfortable for walking and jogging on somewhat smooth surfaces.
  19. My belief is that if we told Iraq’s neighbors that we are going to pull out in two months, that they would put together a solution. All of the different factions are also represented in the neighboring countries, and that would be their political voice. Is this a perfect solution, heck no; but they understand the underlying problems and issues far better than the self interested Christians currently over there violating local law and custom. Even if we don’t see this as a Christian/Muslim dispute, they do. Get the Christians out of the Muslim politics.
  20. Is that a screamer hanging from a screamer?
  21. Ken4ord, I think though that we are the wrong people to try to bring stability to the region. We need to step out and pass "our problem" to Iran, Saudi, Kuwait, and the other middle east countries. Let the muslems come up with a solution of how to "fix" the problem that we created. The last thing that those other countries want is a completely disfunctional and hostle government in Iraq. Let the Muslems dictate the solution.

  23. Either scenerio sounds like it would take too much time away from climbing. Yep, I am old.
