  1. I have been rapping on different sized ropes with the edk for years. leave a long tail on the knot, and quit worrying.
  2. To me, the slow thoughtful meaningful solo on a rock is far more safe than flying down the hill in reckless abandon, which is the sport of Mt. Biking. Mt. Bikers are crazy reckless death-wishers in my book. merely mho
  3. Weight fluctuates every day, so hard to tell, but seeming to average about -2 to -4 or thereabouts. I have a half-marathon next weekend, that should also help. Tuffgirl may turn down her donuts but I fully plan on enjoying my two-week Blizzard at DQ this weekend. Love to all!
  4. First one must learn that "the best" is situational. If I am worried about shockloading the anchors, but I have a good stance, then belaying off the harness is great. If anchors are bombproof, go off the anchors. Judgement rather than rules.

    Lasik

OK, I am sold. Early summer I will get it done.
  6. I climb trees, what does "good pay" actually mean though?
  7. I would rather solo myself than climb a chossy partner. Did I say that right? edit: But never forget the fun of soloing with a partner!
  8. The level of focus when free soloing is amazing, and I cannot find it anywhere. I only do it on climb well within my ability that I feel are dialed in, and I usually have a rope and gear with me incase I lose the feel and decide to hook in. I don't recommend it to anyone, but I cannot get that level of focus or attention anywhere else. someday it may "bite" me, but what an experience.
  9. Probably because I am old, but I like the bivi area. Less large parties, more social drinking. Access to the rock without having to drive, less noise, tremendous view of the rock in the morning if you get a nice site. Bathroom, running water, shower, cannot ask for more. I also seem to meet more people from out of the area there. Skull seems to get the seattle/portland area, Bivi gets the canadians and long distance climbers. Merely my opinion.
  10. Isn't there some issue as to if it is under 50cc you don't need insurance or something? That seems to be where the cost savings would come in
  11. Sherri-doll, you are a beautiful and positive person, and I think I speak for most here when I say thank you for sharing your positive attitude. Love to you!

  13. Nice insight tuffgirl
  14. Think Minimalism Layton. Gandhi only owned five possessions, but then he wasn’t a climber.
  15. Next weekend is the Lworth Rockfest. I have my two kids (7&8) next weekend. Is this something that they are going to enjoy? Anyone else bringing kids that age?
  16. Without any doubt, heal it right the first time and don't force yourself into a second rehab period. Once is enough.
  17. patella I believe. I know it wasn't the hamstring.
  18. Full ACL reconstruct, on the indoor wall 8 days later (what an idiot, but she wasn't following instruction and said "you do it" and I had no choice left!); actually started real climbing at about 2-3 months, been climbing since.
  19. I went over to help a buddy top and drop some trees. I don't have climbing spurs, so I merely climb the tree much like a roped solo on a rock. I showed up in my little "footie" things, and just never changed them. They were magnificant all day long. I spent ten hours in them, toping and dropping, cutting up the limbs, stacking brush; and my feet were the only part of me that were not tired. Climbing around in the trees with those five-toed shoes was a tremendous experience. I loved the shoe experience! (sorry about the neighbors fence!)

    no climbing

Never listen to the doctors Muff. The doctor once took one look at my face and told me that i would never have sex again. Thus far she has been correct, but doesn't mean I quit trying!
  21. You bring the You; and I will bring the Jello, tub, and money.
  22. Lov'n, fight'n, we will take photos of either.
  23. "Auntie Christ", that had me laughing. Muff, just avoid the urge to fight, hit the ignore button, and get back to making the porn for all us lonely guys. That is putting your time to more valuable use. You are loved here. E
  24. Cannot you three ladies put on german outfits, grab large mugs of beer, and just smile and get along like Wink'n, Blink'n and Nod to the left? Put eachother on ignore, meditate and smile. Peace, Respect, and Sisterhood!
  25. Is it too late to suggest "Peace, Love, and Brotherhood?"
