  1. I could get into an drag in approach! 😅
  2. All I did was format the "Team:" part with bold and then added us with the "@" and then our. user name with no space.
  3. Could edit the TR and manually add like this: Team: @KaskadskyjKozak @olyclimber
  4. “… We sensed a while back that this was going to happen. When the building was bought by a PE firm out of the Bay area and our lease was coming to an end, it was clear that we were not a desirable tenant for our new landlord and negotiations did not go in our favor. We had a vision of upgrading the entire gym into a first-class facility. Unfortunately it did not work out as we wished. This is not the end of Vertical World on the East Side. We have been through a lot in our history. We get knocked down and fight our way back up. We are not going anywhere. We will back and we will be better for it.”
  5. See announcement here: https://redmond.verticalworld.com/about-us/letter-from-our-founder/

  9. Damn that is a hell of a trip and a great trip report! Love it! That is a full expedition. Thank you for sharing it here. I want to see some video of the tow in. I admire your ethics in human powered but must admit I would ride in to the point it wasn’t legal. 😂
  10. Is that Sunset magazine???? https://www.sunset.com/ I remember one time I was there this guy fell off the top of Coach's Crack and landed wrong and snapped his tib/fib! Hands and feet somehow both popped out of that greasy thing at the top. He was braying like a pig in pain in the gravel below. Oh yeah, that was me 😂
  11. I've got an addition to the TR tool that allows you to upload a GPX and it will display on a map...but it isn't working for now. I've got to fix and and i'm have a few things compete with my time right now, but hope to get to that this week. For now just don't fill that section in...its optional. I'm going to get the parts that are optional in the TR form labeled as such too. thank you.
  12. Rode the Willy Nilly yesterday.

    Spammers

We are getting a constant and consistent wave of spam in the forums. Me and the mods are knocking it down, but they keep coming. You can really tell when a forum isn't maintained as it just accumulates. Not here. I'm going to reach out to the software vendor to see if they have any tips for improving our ability to not have it. Thank you to those of you that report it and help us keep that crap off the boards.

  15. I don't know why I just came across this, but I have a copy of the climbing guide that he and Fred Beckey did for Leavenworth. Its more just like a booklet or pamphlet. Definitely a PNW legend. Pretty sure I have at least one of of his SW climbing guides too.

  18. Next one in Seattle, lets hear suggestions. Then the one after that? PDX?
  19. Forgot about this one @cfire . Great to meet you the other night.
  20. Another gem a trip report worthy of a reread.
  21. I may have to make some calls as I’m being told to talk to some people about Roger, some may be “off the record”. But I’ll share what I can. Definitely tons of support in the community to document Roger’s story. I will do what I can.
  22. From a 2009 TR by @Tom_Sjolseth :
  23. I guess I'll start with what I know, which is not necessarily factual as its pieced together from reading things from the Internet and talking to people. I'm hoping people can improve on this or correct me where I'm wrong. Roger Jung is/was an accomplished climber who increasing liked to climb alone and do pretty significant climbs, even in winter. You'll find his name in many summit registers in the North Cascades. From the Charley Project website for missing persons: His Jeep was found at the Phelps Creek trailhead with "freshly caught fish" in it, but no fishing gear. He had signed the trailhead register, and some reported that he had both signed in and out (as in he had returned) but speculation in the NWHikers thread is that possible he just noted his planned return date?
  24. At pubclub last night I was reminded of the missing Roger Jung, a legendary recluse Cascade climber. See this thread. I would love to capture in a single thread the story of his accomplishments and just his general story. If you search this site you will find him mentioned all the time, from "he probably climbed that" to his name in summit registers. Just seem like a legend worth documenting and keeping alive. So share your memories, encounters, or anything to do with Roger here. What can you tell me of him? What summit registers have you seen his name in (date? summit?). It would be good if this could help bring closure or find him, but barring that I would just like to document his story. https://charleyproject.org/case/roger-lenard-jung
