  1. My knees are just fine, pally.
  2. Saying Rossi's a crybaby because the hand recount changed the result, and he didn't have a single objection until the result was no longer going his way is legit, but saying nyah nyah nyah you got beat by a girl is about as lame as Donald Trump telling Andy he got outdebated by TWO WOMEN when he fired him on "The Apprentice." Put your misogyny in your pants next to the tube sock, it will look better there than on your sleeve, ya doof.

    Singapore?

Well, it's illegal to even posess chewing gum in Singapore. It's never a bad idea to research the local laws and customs before traveling abroad, IMO.

    Singapore?

Yes, I know about the gum thing. I'm not inclined to spit my gum out in the street anyway. Far as the other thing goes, I haven't seen in the research, but I don't really care one way or the other, either.

    Singapore?

Halfway okay neighborhood with decent-priced lodging, not too far away from everything would be useful.

    Singapore?

Anyone ever gone? Tell me what you know about the place. Fun? Can it be done on the cheap? What's good to see?
  8. I did that too. Left the money in the tray and walked off. About fifteen minutes later I realized what I had done and went back to the bank machine. No cash. I then called my bank and they told me that people do that all the time, and that they usually don't know whose money they have. What apparently happens is after a few minutes the money gets sucked back into the bank machine just like your bank card does if you leave it. The bank told me that if any money got sucked back into the machine, they would refund me my lost $40, and it did, and I did. I'm still with B of A after all these years. Good customer service to let you have your money after you left it in the tray if you ask me.

    Frost Nip

I got it skiing last year after getting a good chill. My fingertips were numb and tingly for a week or week and a half, and I got chilled easily during that time. Take care not to re-chill them, and hopefully you'll be fine. It was my first experience with frostnip, and frankly, I was surprised at how easily it happened.
  11. I have arthritis, and when I take it, I don't *think* it make me feel better, but if I stop, I notice it. I think that means it helps.

    good things to know

That is the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Sorry for the burning sensation, but DAMN funny.
  13. I go see Dr. Dzon Nguyen at Pacific Dental Care on 85th and 14th in Crown Hill. If you go see him, be sure to check out the paintings in his offices, they were my copay on several crowns he's done for me over the years. I say Dzon Nguyen because his brother Dzuy's a dentist too, but he's the guy you see for root canals downtown instead of general dental care in Crown Hill. PS. If you haven't been to the dentist in several years, the cleaning may take a couple of visits.
  14. Lots of conservatives like to get handouts from the goverment while opposing them for other people. For example, every conservative person I know supports school vouchers, which basically make taxpayers pay for kids to go to private school.
  15. "Chicks," is this true? It's important! I'd wouldn't mind something with better gas mileage than my 4-Runner when I replace it in a couple years. I do think I'd miss the clearance a couple times a year, but the Outback probably handles snow better. Chicks dig S00bies, trust me. Mine has 190K on it, and when it finally dies, it will be replaced with.....another S00b! Do they have heated seats yet? That really is the ultimate luxury!!
  16. Fuck it. I'm going to step away from this pissing match. If you want to stereotype us like that, fine. You're part of the very problem you claim to disdain. I'm glad not all climbers are the same. Us who?
  17. Sorry, I misspoke, you are right. Should have previewed the post.
  18. Race is not an issue when I say: She was ineffective as head of the NSA, and she's going to be even more so as Secretary of State. I really didn't have a big problem with her until I listened to every word of her testimony in the 9/11 hearings, and then I decided she really, really sucked at her job, and was/is a weasel and a tool. Blech on Condi.

  20. Blake, if you are asking if I have the 35 or the 50, I have the 35, and it's big enough for overnight. If you are asking which size I have, I can check when I get home. If it comes in 2 sizes only I have the smaller, and I am the max height and torso length for the pack. The one disadvantage to the Talus is there is no adjustability with the suspension so the fit is critical.
  21. I have a Talus 35 that I love. It's a great ski pack, a great day pack, and it's good for light/small overnighters too. It's really comfortable and carries well. That said, the Serratus packs are worth looking at.
  22. Actually, I think a podiatrist would refer you to an orthotist for the manufacture of orthotics.
  23. I have had several different types, and I can't say enough about cork. THE most comfortable. Less durable though. I get a year or so out of a pair, though if you have two sets and rotate them, they last longer. Also if you have a desk job, I bet they last way longer. Keep in mind that for a good set, you are going to pay $200-$500 a set. The most expensive ones are the ones where they cast your feet with plaster cast material. Worth the extra money? Well, I think so, but my feet suck so they need a little extra something. Insurance generally doesn't pay for them either. BTW I go to an orthotist, not a ski shop, and orthotists have no problem fitting to ski boots. You just need to bring your boots in with you, and if you have Thermofits, you might have to get them remolded to fit a set of orthotics. Good luck.
  24. Yes, we are in the process of becoming a fascist state. We the people rubber stamped progress in this direction with our votes last Tuesday. There is a great book on this subject called "The F Word" or something like that. It's pretty bombastic, but it makes the point of how we are developing into a fascist country quite nicely. Sad as it sounds, it seems to be what the people want.
  25. What is this "let's kick on MM" thread all about? You guys won, there is little to be gained by gloating. Plus it's just plain rude.
