  1. The travel advisory has not been updated, but there is information about the tsunami on the site. In any case, I apologize for causing a shitstorm about the State Department website. I am traveling to that part of the world in a couple of weeks and just did some research on Indonesia and Malaysian Borneo recently, and was surprised to see that there are numerous political problems besides the obvious with the tsunami and stuff in Indonesia that has been widely reported.
  2. The State Department website is updated daily or as needed as well.
  3. Keep an eye on the State Department website. It's not a great time to travel in Indonesia.
  4. You guys sure bring a lot of outfits to Pub Club!!
  5. I might try to drop in 10 ish if people will still be there.
  6. I got me a brand new of nordork skis and bindings mounted for about 100 bucks. Good shop, give them money. Oh, and make it snow. TIA.
  7. I had it as a teenage distance runner. At that time, they gave me cortisone shots in the bursa, which helped. I also did some "rengineering" of my footwear with a mat knife. After I stopped running it went away....eventually.
  8. Just a quick werd that it would be great to get the chat hack restored. Thanks

Okay, what about Tioman? Anything to recommend there?
  10. And Marmot is also owned by K2 now, if my memory serves me correctly.

I miss the chatter here too, and I am not going to chat elsewhere. Can we get it back?
  14. They might not be Yahoo bots. There have some BB worms and things squirming around on forums lately and breaking them.

PS. I will share recipes if anyone's interested, shoot me a PM.
  16. My knees are just fine, pally.
  17. Saying Rossi's a crybaby because the hand recount changed the result, and he didn't have a single objection until the result was no longer going his way is legit, but saying nyah nyah nyah you got beat by a girl is about as lame as Donald Trump telling Andy he got outdebated by TWO WOMEN when he fired him on "The Apprentice." Put your misogyny in your pants next to the tube sock, it will look better there than on your sleeve, ya doof.

    Singapore?

Well, it's illegal to even posess chewing gum in Singapore. It's never a bad idea to research the local laws and customs before traveling abroad, IMO.

    Singapore?

Yes, I know about the gum thing. I'm not inclined to spit my gum out in the street anyway. Far as the other thing goes, I haven't seen in the research, but I don't really care one way or the other, either.

    Singapore?

Halfway okay neighborhood with decent-priced lodging, not too far away from everything would be useful.

    Singapore?

Anyone ever gone? Tell me what you know about the place. Fun? Can it be done on the cheap? What's good to see?
  23. I did that too. Left the money in the tray and walked off. About fifteen minutes later I realized what I had done and went back to the bank machine. No cash. I then called my bank and they told me that people do that all the time, and that they usually don't know whose money they have. What apparently happens is after a few minutes the money gets sucked back into the bank machine just like your bank card does if you leave it. The bank told me that if any money got sucked back into the machine, they would refund me my lost $40, and it did, and I did. I'm still with B of A after all these years. Good customer service to let you have your money after you left it in the tray if you ask me.

    Frost Nip

I got it skiing last year after getting a good chill. My fingertips were numb and tingly for a week or week and a half, and I got chilled easily during that time. Take care not to re-chill them, and hopefully you'll be fine. It was my first experience with frostnip, and frankly, I was surprised at how easily it happened.
