  1. I have arthritis, and when I take it, I don't *think* it make me feel better, but if I stop, I notice it. I think that means it helps.
  2. Looking for a copy of this book for less than 50 bucks.

    good things to know

That is the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Sorry for the burning sensation, but DAMN funny.
  4. I go see Dr. Dzon Nguyen at Pacific Dental Care on 85th and 14th in Crown Hill. If you go see him, be sure to check out the paintings in his offices, they were my copay on several crowns he's done for me over the years. I say Dzon Nguyen because his brother Dzuy's a dentist too, but he's the guy you see for root canals downtown instead of general dental care in Crown Hill. PS. If you haven't been to the dentist in several years, the cleaning may take a couple of visits.
  5. Lots of conservatives like to get handouts from the goverment while opposing them for other people. For example, every conservative person I know supports school vouchers, which basically make taxpayers pay for kids to go to private school.
  6. "Chicks," is this true? It's important! I'd wouldn't mind something with better gas mileage than my 4-Runner when I replace it in a couple years. I do think I'd miss the clearance a couple times a year, but the Outback probably handles snow better. Chicks dig S00bies, trust me. Mine has 190K on it, and when it finally dies, it will be replaced with.....another S00b! Do they have heated seats yet? That really is the ultimate luxury!!
  7. Fuck it. I'm going to step away from this pissing match. If you want to stereotype us like that, fine. You're part of the very problem you claim to disdain. I'm glad not all climbers are the same. Us who?
  8. Sorry, I misspoke, you are right. Should have previewed the post.
  9. Race is not an issue when I say: She was ineffective as head of the NSA, and she's going to be even more so as Secretary of State. I really didn't have a big problem with her until I listened to every word of her testimony in the 9/11 hearings, and then I decided she really, really sucked at her job, and was/is a weasel and a tool. Blech on Condi.

    Chat time.
  11. Blake, if you are asking if I have the 35 or the 50, I have the 35, and it's big enough for overnight. If you are asking which size I have, I can check when I get home. If it comes in 2 sizes only I have the smaller, and I am the max height and torso length for the pack. The one disadvantage to the Talus is there is no adjustability with the suspension so the fit is critical.
  12. I have a Talus 35 that I love. It's a great ski pack, a great day pack, and it's good for light/small overnighters too. It's really comfortable and carries well. That said, the Serratus packs are worth looking at.
  13. Actually, I think a podiatrist would refer you to an orthotist for the manufacture of orthotics.
  14. I have had several different types, and I can't say enough about cork. THE most comfortable. Less durable though. I get a year or so out of a pair, though if you have two sets and rotate them, they last longer. Also if you have a desk job, I bet they last way longer. Keep in mind that for a good set, you are going to pay $200-$500 a set. The most expensive ones are the ones where they cast your feet with plaster cast material. Worth the extra money? Well, I think so, but my feet suck so they need a little extra something. Insurance generally doesn't pay for them either. BTW I go to an orthotist, not a ski shop, and orthotists have no problem fitting to ski boots. You just need to bring your boots in with you, and if you have Thermofits, you might have to get them remolded to fit a set of orthotics. Good luck.
  15. Yes, we are in the process of becoming a fascist state. We the people rubber stamped progress in this direction with our votes last Tuesday. There is a great book on this subject called "The F Word" or something like that. It's pretty bombastic, but it makes the point of how we are developing into a fascist country quite nicely. Sad as it sounds, it seems to be what the people want.
  16. What is this "let's kick on MM" thread all about? You guys won, there is little to be gained by gloating. Plus it's just plain rude.
  17. Those fuckin' savages! We should take over that goddamned country for it's own good! I'm gunna go up to Vancouver tonight for the weekend. Should I start the invasion while I'm up there?
  18. Aren't they all kinna like that, or are the Protestant sects somehow more guilty of this than others?
  19. The older Cirruses actually are filled with Thermolite. At least the two I have are. I look forward to replacing the jacket with a Montbell Thermawrap in the near future.
  20. Roe overturned civil libs narrowed again logging in Wilderness or some limitation to the Wilderness Act drilling in ANWR stem cell research completely eliminated
  21. My skiing has been greatly improved by skiing in AT boots. They are softer and not as forward-leaning, and I find that the boots cause me to have to check my balance a lot more and be very light on my feet, which in turn has made me a far more graceful skier. Sorry about the thread drift. I agree with IaXX, AT boots are a great choice. If you get the kind with Thermofits in them, you will have delightfully warm feet!!
  22. SB, I just started AT skiing after 30 or so seasons of lift-serviced DH skiing, and what I found is that my ability level in the BC is quite a bit lower than inbounds due to more obstacles and natural snow. Now I know that isn't the case for some, but bear in mind that it might happen to you. You might want to work on your chops inbounds too 'cuz you need every bit of ability you can muster out there in the wilds.
  23. Could it be a fit issue? I ended up with the Mens version of that boot (Laser) and they ski great and walk/skin very comfortably too. I like them WAY more than any alpine boots I've ever skied in.
  24. That's a good shop.
  25. Rob's right. Except for lab testing, most gear testing is extremely subjective, as it is tested by actual people. Doesn't make it less legit unless they are actually not testing the gear, and usually you can tell by reading the review if that is the case.
