Oh yeah, they look like cheap hangers too!

So, I went for a hike to Fragrance Lake today. I was walking by the crack going through the double roofs, when I noticed that someone placed bolts right next to the perfectly protectable hand crack on the second roof. This is ridiculous! I'm going to yank them. This route protects fine without the bolts. Seriously, you can put in a solid cam like 3 inches away. Furthermore, if you don't trust the crack, just TR the thing. There are plenty of trees at the top. If you placed these bolts, PM me to get the hangers back.

Missing Bolts on Monkey Face Aid Route...

Turn single pitch climbs into multipitch, for practice. Another good place to practice is at the top of Mt. Erie, on top of the summit wall. There is a big flat section were you can walk around and do "mock" multipitch, setting up anchors, placing gear, cleaning, belaying, swinging leads etc. It looks stupid but I taught a friend that way. We did like 8 pitches of belayed leading/walking! My first multi pitch was Banana Peel. The runout was terrifiying then. Me nor my partner were very experienced. At the second to last pitch on the fun 5.4 lieback'in, I ran out of rope (50m). This is before I knew about simulclimbing, hehe. I had to set up a gear belay with a red tricam, a curved hex and a stopper. This was before I owned cams. I would barely even weight the anchor, I just held on to the rock whenever I could. I was terrified! It worked out though. Ah, the good old days. High adventure is relative!

In my opinion, a 30m rope for 3 people will do just fine for DC. You can have 30 feet between each person and still have 20 feet left over on each end(minus knots). Or 35 between and 15 left over, or 40 and 10. Plenty! I use a 30m 8.3mm Edelweiss for glacier travel and light alpine rock. However, Fenderfour had a good idea and a good point for the 50m rope for your group.

HA! Grey Wall always sucks me in. We usually end up taking a lap or two and then sit and drink beer and throw rocks in that lower pocket. Is Larrabee a good hike? Mt. Larabee is a great late season hike/scramble. Lot's of choss, but worth it! All you need is a helmet(reccomended). Take 3-4 hours round trip from Twin Lakes, take 4WD.

I'm an idiot. Whole milk has more calories from fat, but less grams of carbo's per serving than skim milk. Whole milk tastes better though, in my opinion. I sometimes by half gallons of half and half.

Actually, I think they put more suger in skim milk. I believe whole milk has less calories. I'm at work, does someone know for sure off hand?

All these many times: GNS, Zig Zag, The Nose @ Erie, Banana Peel, XY Crack, S. Chuckanut Dihedral, Boat Launch Wall, Grey Wall, The 5.8 at the Cobblestone Wall (Baker), SEWS, North Twin Sister, Mt. Larabee, Pilchuck(hike), Whitehorse.

Did these people gave up on the oil companies and logging companies or what? Don't they have anything better to put their energy into? These are just college hippies feeling important because they thought of something new to whine about. They are jumping on the bandwagon. It's an easy way to make friends. What's funny is that many of us, including myself, care very much about the environment, but these "crunchy chewy's" are just stupid! They need to put more thought into picking their battles. There is over population, which may be the doom of the world, there are nukes in third world countries, there are a billion SUV's on the road driving fat people one block down the street to get Wonder Bread and Pizza Pockets. Some climbers hacking some trails is not going to destoy the Earth. They need to re-focus their efforts. Fucking HIPPIES! AARRGGGHHH!!

Do the Anti-Atkins diet. Eggs and bacon won't help you pack it on. Try this: Take some bleached processed flour hogi buns, smother the insides with margerine, lay it open on a plate and cover it with Ramen and cheap hot dogs. Tons of cheap bread should do the trick too. Drink non-fat milk, because is has more carbs than whole milk. Potatoes! Lots of them. Suger over fat!

So....how did you spend your 3 day weekend
