I recently saw a used Green one go for $143 on ebay. Used! And then there are some for $60 on Mountain project right now that some guy is selling. Probably sold already though.

Well, at least it's large enough to adequately cover your grave. Ujahn had been talking up this finger crack route he'd been cleaning elsewhere. I went out one day and soloed climbed the route using his fixed line. I get up under this column that is the right side of his "fantastic Fingercrack". I look carefully and as the climbing was hard there and as I'm edging up directly under it notice that the damn thing is not touching the main wall on any of it's sides. It appears to be free hanging like an icecycle. It's just hanging free right over my head like the sword of Damoclese ready to chop my neck which I'd stuck right out there....holy crap, I can't reverse the moves without weighting the rope and the rope is going to put pressure on the upper part of this death block somewhere (that I can't even see from below) I don't know it my weight would dislodge the thing.....I had to weight it eventually. I felt so lucky that thing didn't fall off there as it would have been instant death. I come back and describe this to him, and we show up the next weekend with my pry bar. He goes up to lever and I was @ a 1/4 mile back ground spotting as he cranked this thing: which turned out to be @ 15' across and about that long, 2" out from the wall- @ 100' up. It moved remarkably easy and the roar and crash, despite being a long distance from my cush spot, still had me scrambling and moving at high speed to duck for cover behind the boulder I had been resting on. It was so loud!

I though that this part was right on the money and well spoken Bob.

WTF? Where you were: Where everyone else was: ps, you might take a hammer and duct tape & check the sharpness of that edge your rope is running over up there. Picture makes it look like it will core your rope if you pop the next piece up. Whew! 4th times a charm!

LOL Hound! Here's some pics to spice up Spray. As I like them better than the non-climbing photos being posted, I'm making them big. LOL! I took them out at the slash pile looking down at Ben Priestly and Scott Peterson doing the 4th ascent of The Salathe Highway route on the Old Witch pinnacle at the Coethedral Formation. Bon Apetite Woot!!!! Check these dudes out beyotches! Looking like little ants up there. Ben is in the Orange/leading. Panned out, Ben finishing the lead and is on top of the pinnacle. Ben belaying Scott up. close up with both: Scott said that for the 3rd ascent, he popped a grapefruit sized rock and fell onto his #2 Camalot. If you look up "Pant's filling moment" in Wikipedia, they have his surprised expression captured next to the definition I believe. Hope that helps things out around here. Oh, as an aside, I tried to wrestle that tree trunk off that looks like it's ready to roll off the top in the pics. It's still rooted pretty good and won't budge with out some hot sawing action -so it got left.

I've heard the explanation before, but it's better to not try and duplicate it in words as I'm sure it's been done more thoroughly than I could here. Certainly if, after watching the Israeli commandos kill some Turkish dudes on a flotilla if I heard anyone mutter in exasperation "Fucking Israelis" or Fucking Jews", in my mind that wouldn't be a racist comment by itself any more than if someone said "Fucking Pentecostals"...over something about that group that annoyed them. My neighbors are Penecostals and great people, but I'd understand the comment. I made a similar mistake once when I heard an exasperated person claim that "the Samoans were taking over". It later turns out that they had bought every house on the block, including hers which she was renting. Every damn one. She turned out to be one of the least racist persons I've ever met. It was just a factual statement which I misunderstood the first go round. One of my wife's closer friends at the time, who was just a sweetheart of a nice person, was Samoan and I at first took the comment as offensive. I see many people rush to similar judgment in similar things around here, especially jb. I suspect if we could get jb to tell us who he really is, he'd be nicer and less judgmentally wrong all the time.
