As I understand it, and I think this was one of Hillarys biggest shining moments, she hired a recently retired, sharp, female republican congressional staffer who had a strong interest in health care to help her revamp the Health Care issue which was poorly put forth earlier. The plan was to recind or allow to expire the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% and totally fund it off that. Looked like a good idea from what I saw, and big props to Hillary for going to the mat and trying to do what she believed was the right thing for the country. Had she exhibited this kind of behavior instead of the posing she was doing so poorly with, she'd most likely have been the next president. We waste so Fucking much money on healthcare. You all opposed to any changes need to start by recognizing that you still pay for those poor folks smart enough to work the system to go to emergency rooms to get checked for something as simple as a case of the sniffles while working stiffs just get shit on and impoverished. It's damn efficient as it is right now. The hospitals CANNOT AND WILL NOT turn anyone away from the emergency room. Oregon is a bit different than the rest of the nation with the Oregon Health care plan as Oregons Governor for 8 years, Kitshaber was an ER room doctor, this was in issue he changed vis a vis the federal funding with our state alone, which is working pretty good.
  3. Ha ha! OK
  4. I got it pretty much under control after almost going to the big house for almost planting big Joe Meneski and his buddy Beaver 6 feet under in one of those brawls that had 5 dudes and me going full on crazy. This was 30 years ago or so. After that, I got invited to do TAiKwanDo and use to round robin full contact spar, full on fighting except you couldn't punch to the head, with 2 Black belts and a Brown belt until we were almost about to drop - one after another 2-3 times a week. Invariably, into the thick of things I'd get angry and start to fire up ...best way to describe it is "Insane out of control Berserking"... the match would be stopped, sometimes with difficulty, until I could regain my senses and sanity. I owe them big for staying with me as I tried to kill them all during these sparing sessions, but eventually I got it under near total control through a gradual process over many many months. It helped that they were all big dudes, well over 6 feet, and the Brown Belt had been state champion wrestler in like 198 or some heavier weight limit...and you all know how small I am. Now I seek true peace and inner harmony. :kisss: Besides, these Russian kids look like they'd kick my ass, and I haven't fought anything or anyone for over 32 years now so all those muscles have atrophied as well. Unfortunately, or fortunately, that sense of truth, justice and right hasn't left me, so here I am. Anyway, back then I was @ 130, now I'm the same height, 165 and according to my wife, much less toned -she grabs the flab on my arms and shakes it while laughing as she says "Billy, what happened? You use to be so strong" : as if to emphasis the truth of this point:-).....Nah, not worth it. So...help!? Call the number and hop for a coincidence that a patrolman is free and already cruising your way a few blocks out. PS, Geoff, thanks BTW for those words!

True Chicken hawks doesn't often prey on Chickens although they do prey on some birds on occasion. Hope the Rooster breaths easier. Maybe Mt Mouse is about to panic though.
  6. They did Jeff. The Officer was a great guy, he mentioned that they had been working on a missing child priority one call and were all busy near systemwide (found the child evidently). By the time I'd even gotten to the top the asswipes were gone anyway. I think that the Bear Spray might be a hell of an idea. Hate to spray these F*s and have one of them jump up dazed and confused and fall over the cliff. They sit right there on near the edge. Last year, when I confronted the 5 Russian MFers, they started getting pretty frisky and uppity and the party moved back away from the edge as the "discussion" progressed. This time one of them tried to get behind me several times....but I've danced with multiple partners enough times and there was only 2 of em, so they passed.

It ain't over till it's over and it's ain't over now.
  8. So last night Ujahn and I went up to top rope those routes to the right of Phylnx. Ujahn set it and rapped. *Boing* WTF? sounded like a bottle being thrown off the cliff noise, I'm sure I heard a bottle. I'm just starting to rap, so I undo it, climb back to the top and as I'm hustling over, hear another *Boing* I hear another as I hustle over. I see these Russian assholes sitting there drinking. As I indignantly stomp up to them yelling about them throwing bottles I snap this pic with my I-Phone as I'm walking towards them. I'm yelling and getting Aggro, explaining that I will call the police unless they leave. Which the blond dude here say "We going, We going".... and they leave. 20-30 min later I'm down below with Ujahn climbing and hear *Boing*...*Boing*, fairly close. Fuckers had come back and finished tossing off their Bud Light bottles right above us, left the empty 12 pack carton though. I go climbing up there with full intent to kick ass this time. They had left. I had seen them drinking up there the previous week as well. I'd sat down and stared at them, and they didn't toss any bottles, but put them all back in the case while I was there. Then I left to go bouldering at the top. Here they are. I've confronted them before, 5 of the jackasses last year, and had a more pleasant talk with 2 others. Somehow they aren't so confrontational when the numbers are not so overwhelming. I've only been to the Butte like 5 times this year and have seen them 3 times, so this is for you Rocky Butte regulars. So what I'm asking is this, if you see any Russians at the top of the cliffs with beer. Just call the police immediately as it's illegal. Even if you do not catch them in the act of throwing, just drinking is illegal. I don't know why they can't drink out of cans, but it's always bottles and they ALWAYS THROW them off as near as I can tell. Last year I picked up a full 5 gallon bucket of glass at the base of Bill's Buttress area. Eventually, they'll move on if we pressure them and we won't be cutting our fingers on shards of glass or worrying about getting beaned. It sucks that they are fucking it up for everyone, but I've f*ing had it. The police non-emergency number is 503-833-3333. If you forget, call 911 or 411 or 800-goog or whatever and they'll give it to you. Here were the shitheads the previous week. They do not appear to have a car, and walk up here, so they must live close. My last 2 fights have turned out badly, and I tried to swear it off and promised to keep my temper in check, but I'm close to sparkin here. I need help. Please. This could get real real ugly real real fast. No shit. I feel like these fuckers have not regard for my life as they toss these bottles down from 100' up. Please help. The police non-emergency number is 503-833-3333

My head is still spinning on how the public let the Bush team paint both McCain and Kerry as some sort of unpatriotic low lifes with less than stellar service records during the election process. Perhaps it truly time to move on yet remember this lesson.
  11. from the year 2000 " Ladies and Gentlemen of the Parole Board: This is my reply to the petition of parole made by Mark David Chapman from here on called "the subject." It is not easy for me to write this letter to you since it is still painful for me to think of what happened that night and verbalize my thoughts logically. Forgive me if I fall short of your expectation of giving you a satisfactory opinion. But these are my sincere thoughts. For me, he was the other half of the sky. My husband John Lennon was a very special man. A man of humble origin, he brought light and hope to the whole world with his words and music. He tried to be a good power for the world, and he was. He gave encouragement, inspiration and dreams to people regardless of their race, creed and gender. For me, he was the other half of the sky. We were in love with each other like the most vehement of lovers to the last moment. For our son Sean he was the world. That world shattered when the "subject" pulled the trigger. With his one act of violence in those few seconds, the "subject" managed to change my whole life, devastate his sons, and bring deep sorrow and fear to the world. For Julian, it was losing his father twice. For the people of the world, it was as though the light went out for a moment and darkness prevailed. With his one act of violence in those few seconds, the "subject" managed to change my whole life, devastate his sons, and bring deep sorrow and fear to the world. It was, indeed, the power of destruction at work. At first, I had refused to acknowledge John's death. I announced that, "There is no funeral for John." In my mind, I was saying "BECAUSE HE IS NOT DEAD!" "Tell me he is not dead, tell me he is not dead." I was screaming inside myself. 'Let the darkness go' But then, I started to hear that young girls were jumping off buildings to kill themselves. For the past 20 years, I've carried the torch John and I once carried together to try to let the darkness go I realized then that it was not a time for me to simply wallow in my own pain. I organized a world vigil with the prayer that, together, we would somehow get through. For the past 20 years, I've carried the torch John and I once carried together to try to let the darkness go. I asked the fans to remember John's birthday, not the day of his passing. When people asked how I felt about the killer of my husband, I have always told them that I didn't think about that day anymore. I wanted to look to the future, and not to remember that horrible moment. But in actual fact, the memory of that night has never left me for the last 20 years. It was so cruel. So unjust. My husband did not deserve this. He was in no way ready to die. He was feeling good with the prospect of doing a concert tour after making the album which became his last. He would have gladly changed his position with the "subject," and live the life of protection that the "subject" enjoys now. Even in confinement, my husband John would have cherished hearing voices of people he loved, enjoyed creating songs, and simply appreciated watching the sky and its changes through the seasons. John cannot do any of that now. I am afraid it will bring back the nightmare, the chaos and confusion once again His family and the world rested because justice was finally done by the court. The "subject" was imprisoned. If he were to be released now, many will feel betrayed. Anger and fear would rise again. It would also give a "go" signal to the others who would like to follow in the footsteps of the "subject" to receive world attention. I am afraid it will bring back the nightmare, the chaos and confusion once again. Myself and John's two sons, would not feel safe for the rest of our lives. People who are in positions of high visibility and outspokenness such as John, would also feel unsafe. Finally, it will not be safe for the "subject" himself. He will cease to have the security that the State provides him now. I understand that he has been isolated from other prisoners because of the threat of possible harm to him. Well, there are more people in the outside world who are strongly distressed about what he has done. They would feel that it is unfair that the "subject" is rewarded with a normal life while John lost his. Violence begets violence. If it is at all possible, I would like us to not create a situation which may bring further madness and tragedy to the world. I thank you in advance for your wise and just decision. I am, Sincerely yours, Yoko Ono Lennon "
  12. The guys at Daily Kos tore a hole in that accusation: http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/8/12/1101/20327/19/566444 Hmmm, lets see. He probably got the idea to tear a hole in the accusation from the original artical on FOX which stated: "Wolfson’s claims, however, that Clinton could be the likely nominee if Edwards had been scandalized are disputable. A Washington Post poll taken after the caucuses showed 43 percent of voters who backed Edwards would have chosen Obama as a second choice, not Clinton." However, it could be possible he never read past the first paragraph or seen the Washington Post poll.... just sayin'.
  13. Probably lots of red...just like the other kid. In related news, Millie-Vanilli have regrouped and are flying over right now for a reunion tour to start in china, with Fabio playing the late Rob Pilatus part and some unknown young male model playing the other part and backup vocals by Jessica Simpsons lil sister. Vocals by Neil Young and Willie Nelson. Rob and Fab on the world class lip-syncer tour.
  14. the title....where were the shotguns?

  16. 'Stacios are nice, but a lot of work and you need to shell them. I always liked Cashews and a few chocloate chips tossed in. Now I've learned that isn't the best thing to eat.
  17. Only Macs? You surly catch my drift Porter?
  18. Thanks for the reminder of how Fed the world can be. This is a sad tale all the way around for the victim, her friends and family, this kid, and his family as well. Fortunately it is absurdly rare happening. For those focusing on this tragedy, be aware that 11 little children have fallen out of FUCKING WINDOWS THIS YEAR ALONE IN THIS STATE ALONE!!!!!!! Ya got anything to say about that? Of course not. Don't think that there is not some tragedy going to occur somewhere in the world that you can NOT stop with any amount of laws or government intervention. Ain't so bubbas. Sad to say. Very sad, but as the Buddhists say: "Life IS Suffering." My sympathies to all these folks who must be hurting beyond our conception.

  25. No, I think what they are thinking is that, if you were to take the lense of what qualities McCain (or rather lack of qualifications) has (or doesn't have), McCain still looks better than Obama in the qualification dept. Significantly so. Obamas LACK of qualifications doesn't mean he will be better, he has merely done less to complain about. Significantly so. This is why you may think he'd be better, but it is not necessarily so. Sadly, you will get one of them for sure.
