You will want this book. If you are sticking to the Whistler area, then draws will be all you really need. Do Star Chek. Bring extra anchor material for this, as you will have to rap down and climb out, all anchors are bolted, but no chains. I think that four anchors are required if you have only one rope... assmonkey is talking about Nordi Rock, I beleive. Squamish is not far from whistler either... There's lots of highway construction in the Cheakamus canyon area right now, and acces may be difficult to impossible in some areas at times.

You know what I do that works really well? I use a Petzl ascender, clipped in at the top, so it feeds properly, and it's also harder for the rope to unclip. Then I tie a short prussic just above that, and clip it into the same biner as the ascender. The ascender pushes the prussic up, but it's there in case the ascender should pop. Never locks up, because it's never loaded. Like this:

IA M SO THERE If Muffy's gonna cage dance then I'm there too!

I love mine when I am playing the Aid game, I have found spots where I couldn't think of anything else that would work as well; a flaring roof crack that was super thin. The flare would have prevented a pin from seating properly, and it was too skinny for my littlest cams.

Should still be fully functional, but gear that falls apart never really gives me peace of mind.

No, not at the t.h. (2nd hand info) and not sure how far up the trail the snow starts.

Hmmm, or hard choice. You think I give a hoot if she got someone else to make her website. Yeah, jon and timmay, you suck, you got a pre made forum...

I wonder if you are getting slightly farked... you're site always seems a bit slow when you post links on cc, but other times it seems OK.

aka the Cheakamus River West road. This is re the road that acesses the Microwave towers, leaving from Function Junction... It washed out last Fall in the big floods. I drove in to the big washout at the bend yesterday, in my Subaru. The bridges up to that point had all been recently repaired, and there is a very rough road along the river bank now. You could certainly make the corner up from the river with any 4WD, and might be able to make it with a higher clearance 2WD and a lot of skill as well as some hole filling... So unless there is some closure above the river... we are good to go again. From the amount of work put into those bridges, it looked like they are intending to keep that road active.

A scan w/ NAV, says "No."

If you really want to be able to climb best in them, you might wanna check out the MLT4. It's the same bottom part of the shell as the TLT, but with a smaller, lace-up cuff. You might be get a buckle added to boost the ski performance a little. I have heard bad things about the durability of the Dynafit boots, but maybe they have improved since. Flat feet will probably have trouble in the Scarpa Lasers, they are very high shells. Not sure if the other models are the same. Discalimer: I am a tele skier. But I am a gear too.
-
Maybe...
-
What's your priority? climbing or skiing? Do you have a high or low volume foot?
-
I may be interested in your totally trashed dynafit compatible boots. It doesn't matter what size or model, as long as the dynafit fittings are in good shape. I would like these as cheap as possible.
-
Another point, re: stretch of shoes... THey will stretch plenty around the foot (as long as they ae not synthetic) but will not stretch much in length. If you are shopping at a shop with plenty of stock, ask to try on all the pairs of a particular size once you decide on the right one. You may be suprised at the variation in size, and will probably be able to even out the differential of fit between your differently sized feet.

50% reduction in pollution/consumption would actually be a pretty good place to start, methinks.

For me, and I am not marylou, it is not so much what is wrong with IE, but what is so much better about Opera. It is just so much more functional, it make IE look like a Dodge Caravan vs. a Porsche 944. They both get you to the store, but one is oh so much nicer to drive. Of course there are things "wrong" with IE that many people wouldn't even realize... like lack of support for PNG transparencies.
