and then offer her a wild evening of titrating practice and show her your erlenmeyer flask!
  5. what do you mean? the only thing missing in that joint is the long fold-up tables. maybe they have spruced it up since the last time I was there (few years ago).
  6. Why the hell does it matter, unless you want to tell other people you climbed something in winter? if the weather is good, just go climb something. if not, don't. This "technically winter" stuff is pure b.s. Good luck with your quest to get into the guidebooks.
  7. the mexican joint in terrebonne reminds me of eating in my middle school cafeteria and I don't even get any chocolate milk
  8. I would second that recommendation for Beacon rock, as it is far better than what is available in the metro area in my opinion. However, if it is the first time outdoors for someone you might be limited in what you can climb there. The SE corner is a fine choice and a beautiful introduction to outdoor multi-pitch climbing. Little Wing is another fine crack right next to it too.
  9. The Alpine trail can be a BLAST especially once the kickers go in. Problem is, I'm always running it at the end of a long day of skiing so my thighs get absolutely thrashed. It's a great run and you're guaranteed to get a hitch back up the t-line road if you do it during the day. Really popular with the young boarders who don't want to lay down a lot of cash for a lift ticket.
  10. Smith was in fine shape this weekend. I, however, was not in fine shape.
  11. I would expect nothing more from a philomath resident hahaha
  12. I doubt you would be disappointed with either of them. Havocs have a bit of a twin tip to them if I'm not mistaken. That's always fun. The R:ex is actually railed in the back from the factory (like many Atomic skis) this is apparently "a feature" according to Atomic.
  13. These are great skis if you like to go fast. Unfortunately they do not do quite so well at slower speeds or tight areas. They are not the most forgiving boards out there. For their stiffness they are "reasonably" light for AT. I would take the R:ex over the Havoc. I love mine and use them all the time. I am in the 180's, 6', and have the 184 R:ex from about 2 years ago. The hilarious part is they are considered midfats now. They look downright skinny next to some Karhu Jaks.
  14. it's gonna git powerwashed this w-e bish!

  20. with the skyrocketing freezing level and rain after such a huge dump of snow, it should be a wild time in the cascades this weekend!

    thanks

I don't know about that, but the national inter-agency pass ("America, the Beautiful" pass) they set forth in the rider is expected to cost at least $85. Who knows if the forest-pass-only concept will be around. The rider also encourages contracting with private companies to manage public lands. This is a disaster in my opinion. Actually I have not verified that Bush signed this yet, just heard that he had. I might be speaking way too soon. I should not have posted that yet.

    thanks

You guys ready to lay out $85-$100 annual for access to your national forests? Because that's what you'll be doing in 2005! Thanks Regula! Maybe I'll take my next vacation in Ohio, WHERE THEY DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THESE FEES. Thank Bush for signing that pork
  23. now that is what I call a sausage fest
