  1. I love those ridiculous situations where you are hanging out on something steep and your fingers are worked, and you're trying to flip that little clipper back into your thumb and index finger to re-clip it because the webbing is too long, or too short because you're using thicker gloves, etc. Ah ice climbing.

  5. Oregon Climate Service still predicts below-average temps and above average precip through Dec. Then above-average temps and above average precip for rest of winter.

did you know todd skinner climbed city park?
  15. I agree about the cold cold world packs. Those seem to be really nice and simple I've no problem spending the money on the Andinista, as long as I can expect the company to treat me right when I have a problem. Or ideally, not have a problem at all. They charged my friend a lot for a new ice sack when the liner of his old one peeled off. The main problem has been the zippers. I have perhaps misused it a bit hauling some really heavy things though.
  16. Beware of the smaller wired BD hexes. Some weigh in with a 6kN rating (#3 for example). Hardly what you want for lead climbing, and they weigh the same as nuts. Silly little things! The bigger BD hexes are nice for picketesque type climbing as they are exceedingly light. I think the #11 cowbell was placed about 8 times on a scamper up the N. Buttress of Fury this summer. Better than dragging up the costalots, and no big deal if you lose it. It is nice to sling your own with some quality cord.
  17. tell me, is it a pain in the ass to re-log in each time under a new name? do you have a database of usernames/passwords/hotmail addresses?

  19. Sweet only $56 for the thinnest piece of nylon known to man. I've been disappointed with wild things. I've been using an andinista for about 5 years and it just keeps falling apart. I'd send it back but they were less than accomodating to my friend when he sent back an ice sack this year. They are not the company they used to be "back in the day". I have to insert the obligatory andinista=turgid sausage comment as well. They are pretty light though, just disappointed with the product's stitching and zippers. In other words, the product.
