  1. Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92 There is not a bad track on this album if you like Aphex Twin.
  2. Steely Dan - Gold. Some people love to hate these guys, probably because they've only heard the bad radio hits. For some reason I like them and this album has none of the lame radio stuff and plenty of the good stuff.
  3. I have found hammerheads to be great in-area bindings! I've literally jumped into my freerides before. The AT skis-on de-skin is a piece of cake once you get the "ski rotation momentum" trick down to grab the tail.
  4. This doesn't sound like much fun. And faceplant when you forget to lower your heel risers. extreme skiing on 30° suckas!
  5. Naproxen-based products like Aleve can increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight, if that is important to you. Nothing a sunscreen can't fix. As far as I know, basic Motrin is just ibu, so the generic 200mg tablets will do the same job for much cheaper. If narcotic analgesics are on the table there's a whole world of things to play with. But not exactly a first choice for "joint pain". If you have given your partner narcotics like oxycodone while waiting for an evacuation, be sure to remember to let the medic know before they administer morphine, etc. when they arrive. It would be easy to forget in the chaos.
  6. I'm a big fan of Excedrin. It is a cocktail of acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine, and can make those long exits a little nicer. Otherwise, I carry ibuprofen in loading dose perscription quantities (800mg) for serious musculoskeletal injuries, less for minor pain.
  7. I wonder how they would enforce it. I could see some cool james bond scene forming where you're outskiing usgs helicopters as they throw seismograph tape at you.

    Armageddon

oh I was assuming total destruction of the planet. in that case, forget what I said about the insect zoo, that's a little too much.

I would also break open the zoo and let the elephants run down hwy 26 into downtown portland. maybe stick most of the insect zoo onto a large catapult and send it skyward, just to see where it lands!

that's true a wrecking ball crane might be more fun in tokyo I would also definitely beg, borrow, steal my way into a cockpit of an F15 and try to get it off the ground for some joyriding.

    but the wrecking ball crane....please?

I would also reintroduce the McDLT complete with the original two-burger styrofoam packaging and be instantly popular.

I would take that plutonium pottery class I've always been eyeing. Then I would go bengal tiger hunting in Hummers using bazookas, flamethrowers, and a wrecking ball crane.
  18. Well anything's skiable by the right people right? We skied all of it w/o any problems. The ridges are not bad at all. You could almost skin them in the right conditions. We had to de-skin once or twice due to some bulletproof icy sections. That's always a lively transition to crampons, where you find things too icy/steep to skin but have to take the skis off and put on the crampons on ice. edit: this was in May.
  19. red top has some stuff too. the odell lake area ain't exactly secret guys
  20. Yes I did it with scarpa invernos. I'll never do that again.
  21. I think Oregon Descents suggests going below Illumination Rock to cross the Reid Glacier though. I would choose to ski through the saddle instead. Then drop low around Yocum Ridge. An axe and crampons would be nice to have along. Pretty much just stay in the 8000's on the altimeter and follow the path of least resistance.
  22. It has been done by a number of people on this board. It is usually done clockwise. There might be some photos from people in the gallery. It is a lot of fun and can be done easily in a day by a fit group. http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/
