  1. Just got off the phone with John McGowan. This year's nesting site is on the cliffs downstream of (but near) The Bend. Royal Columns and The Bend are open, but do not go into the posted area to the east of The Bend.

  3. If you head up to Green DragOn or Town Crier, do the right-hand start, not Davis-Holland. It's a better aid crack. http://www.stanford.edu/~clint/index/utwc.gif p1 of Snow White and Numbah Ten on the LTW are also fun.

  7. A quick Google search suggests that you should be able to buy another pair of Stubai crampons for less than the REI deal: http://store.everestgear.com/stuluncr.html
  8. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure. The Umbrella policy is sold as 'excess liability' insurance on top of auto or homeowner's insurance, so they cover the same sort of accidents that those policies cover. I was hoping a more knowledgeable insurance type would pipe in. And as to Collin and Marc knocking noggins (or whatever kids call it these days) I'd encourage them to use adequate protection.
  9. You can get an umbrella insurance policy which ups the coverage on top of your homeowners and auto insurance policies. Contact your current insurer. It's pretty cheap.
  10. The Mountaineers reserves the outdoor walls through Seattle Parks for their field trips and other climbing events. Before heading over, you can check the calendar to see if the shorts and polypro crowd will be mobbing the place. http://www.mountaineers.org/calendar/ The outdoor wall is the S Plaza.
  11. I watched a guy climb Godzilla as his first trad lead.
  12. Colors aren't the only way to differentiate gear. Patterns and location can be used as well. See, you *can* teach an old raindawg new tricks!
  13. The Tenshi has a zip on vestibule like the ID, so it goes on pretty quick and seals well. The Bibler vestibule, IMO, is a pain to use in comparison.
  14. True story Eric told me that Dan watched Quinn fall 1000' down Monte Cristo. Hey, I read that on cc.com!
  15. Pre-treat your wrist by sitting on it until it goes numb. This has the added advantage of feeling like someone else is doing it.
  16. The best shoe rubber is the one having the most fun.
  17. A shot of penicillin should clear that up. Nice story, BTW.
