  8. Take a Small rack. Lots of natural pro shrubs & trees early on. You can simul the entire route (mainly 4th class). The more difficult sections are real short. I think I did it in 5 hours car to the summit. The west ridge decent is loose but easy down climbing and probably a lot faster than rappeling the south buttress.
  9. Find a good mentor and learn as much as you can from them. Clean lots of routes learning the different gear placements. Start on easy climbs placing lots of pro.

  11. I would like to see a cc.com cascade survivor version. Take 16 dot commers drop them off in a remote region of the cacades. No provisons (except for a ration of horsecock) and a sparcity of gear. Challanges could include group ascents of the Russian route of inspiration or other fun routes. Who can catch and eat the most snaffle-hounds. I would be willing to host the show. And winner would get the title the Ultimate Cascade Survivor and a Case of Beer and a life time supply of horse cock.

  16. Head over to L'worth, plenty of easy moderates. Several climbs at castle rock worth doing (midway, saber). R & D route on icicle buttress (easy 3 pitch 5.6).
  17. Of the hexes I have used, I prefer the slung (lighter, more flexiblity). I have wired hexes but they spend all there time in the closet.
  18. Snow Creek, you can do it in running shoes even in early season, no crampons or axes needed.
  19. an option would be to wait til ealry November, when there iis a little bit of consolidated smow on the route, cooler weather, more stable ice fall. It would also make the descent down the sherpa glacier easier.
  20. Do step ups, lunges, one leg squats.
  21. Why climb chossy tuff when there is beutiful granite closer. Although I did enjoy hanging with some of the crew last weekend.
  22. Need a partner for this weekend. Ideas include Squamish, Leavenworth or any other good ideas weather dependent. E-mail or pm
  23. quote: Originally posted by RopeGunHooker: I bet those two dorks on the far right of the photo be Highlander and Texplorer. Rumor has it they wear neon spandex while climbing. The spandex was helpful on that stem out onto the BONE, but DAMNATION shredded them. I think I may switch to Caharts and save the spandex for Smith Rox.
